About the adventure

*2024 rules will be used for this game* First published by The Judges Guild in 1977, *Tegel Manor* is the oldest of the "Haunted House" adventures in fantasy roleplaying, and probably the very first megadungeon ever published. The Manor is a sprawling edifice of 250+ rooms filled with traps, tricks, puzzles, monsters, and situations both humorous and horrific. The intertwined and sinister relationship between the house and its chosen family is a history of horror, evil, and greed. There is much for the players to learn about the curse, and their knowledge might just keep them alive long enough to tell the tale. *Tegel Manor* is a 5th edition adaptation of the original D&D campaign.

About me

I found my first Players Handbook under the Xmas tree long before they started numbering the various editions of any of these games, and have been playing ever since. I started DMing regularly for family and friends ten years ago, and soon branched out to offering games online, first as a side hustle and then as a full-time occupation. I like to explore every pillar of game play and have a particular liking for mysteries and puzzles, but I certainly know when it's time to roll dice and crunch monsters as well.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation and any game-related communication and preparation conducted in Discord game channel in days leading up to first game session to afford plenty of opportunity for preparation before play commences in first game session.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Character should be ready for first session of game. Webcam optional (DM often uses one, but it is not required for players). Game audio and other game related communication takes place via Discord.

What Craig brings to the table

Games will take place on Roll20 VTT with maps, all relevant resources available in game compendium, dynamic lighting and occasionally music. GM available for assistance with character creation.

Homebrew rules

Alternative Death Save rules: Failed Death Saves do not reset with healing, only with a long rest. This is to mitigate the jack-in-the-box effect of 5e healing, instead of allowing a character in a combat to pop up and down and up and down and up and down with no effects or consequences. Healing potions are a full action. Takes more than a bonus action to grab a potion from your pack/belt, uncork it, and guzzle it down!
