About the adventure
In 1928, you are contacted by Dr. Highsmith of St. Agnes Asylum. He seeks your help with a troubling case: one of his patients, Alexander Roby. Two years earlier, Roby was committed by his own brother after a horrific incident that left their father and sister dead under mysterious circumstances. Alexander was somehow involved—yet no charges were ever filed. Now, Dr. Highsmith believes Roby is ready to be released. But he needs outside confirmation… and discretion. Questions quickly surface. Why is Roby’s brother so determined to keep him locked away? What truly happened on that fateful night? And what role did Alexander play in it all? As you dig deeper, new facts emerge. Then come the murders. What once seemed like a tragic family affair begins to unravel into something far more sinister. Something vast. Something watching. You must uncover the truth—even if it costs you your life… or your sanity. Because you have seen the Yellow Sign. And you cannot forget it. THE KING IS COMING. THE KING IS COMING. -- In this campaign you will investigate machinations of a cult that wants to bring Hastur to Earth. Complicated mystery which takes turns with a slow burn will give you enough creeps to make it memorable. Story begins in good old London and takes a huge part there with first act. Then you will visit rural Britain and finally - well... you have to see it for yourself! But be sure to buy enough warm clothes! -- Don't worry if you never played Call of Cthulhu - I welcome players at every experience level. If you have a knack for mystery solving along with some surreal horror elements you will find this game interesting.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I believe that written text conveys only a small fraction of who I am and for sure it doesn't convey character as well as a short video clip does. So I recorded a small "hi" video for you - https://youtu.be/BjBTNa-oBvY Hi — I'm Jacek (he/him), your new Game Master! Whether you’re seeking eldritch mysteries, gritty horror, or cozy investigation, I’m here to guide you through compelling stories with heart and tension. I started my adventure in mid 90s when I ran my first games - AD&D 2e and Call of Cthulhu and basically became forever GM as this is what I enjoy most about roleplaying. Despite being in the hobby for some time now I always try to improve my games - not by revolutions but by small steps. I most enjoy and regularly run Call of Cthulhu, Delta Green and Dragonbane. I got a dog called Migo, I love getting lost during long hikes in the woods and enjoy long distance trail running. I used to run actual play show where I did record my sessions. Those are in Polish but you can turn on autotranslate for subtitles and get a general feeling how do I run my games. Some of them include real life table recordings, some of them have talking heads from online plays and some are audio only. You can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/@61012

Creating your character
We will create characters during session zero. Prior understanding of the system is not necessary but will help. It would be good if some characters have some alienist / creative arts backgrounds.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We will be using Foundry and Discord and I will provide links to both before. No knowledge of Foundry is needed. I encourage use of webcams as I believe it gives closer experience to playing at actual table but don't require it.
What Jacek brings to the table
Although I try to run game by the rules I am for rule of cool. If any rule is standing in a way of good story or players actions and any change is reasonable - I'm all for it. I will try to utilize all the good things Foundry can do but in the end it is theatre of the mind game not a computer game. Don't expect to see visual aid for everything happening in the game. I will reuse handouts provided within campaign book and where needed and if time lets me I will try to do my own takes on those. I do my own music and will try to utilize this for audio backgrounds.

How Jacek creates a safe table
I use Safety Tools Foundry module so those are built in into Foundry game I will set up. Those are easy to use and always at hand for players to utilize. This is a horror game with scary moments and all but there will be no sexual content here (and I strongly suggest players to not push it). I don't expect any scary stuff to be really uncomfortable if you are into general horror.
