About the adventure

This is a workshop where I will guide you through a series of discussions and creative exercises designed to help you practice some of the fundamental skills involved in GMing a TTRPG game. We will be focusing on three topics. Immersive narration and imagery, NPCs that are memorable and fun to interact with, and combat that is dynamic and cinematic. Your narration, description, and imagery is your players window into the world of your game. It is your job to use your words to tell your players where they are, what is happening, who else is there with them, and what all of this looks like. In this workshop we will work on using all 5 senses in your descriptions and using the correct tone in your voice to match the mood of the moment. Interacting with NPCs is a huge part of the game, so it is important to make your NPCs interesting. In this workshop we will work on giving your NPCs their own unique voices and personality quirks. Combat can be a big part of a campaign, so your encounters need to be interesting. A simple combat where the party fights some NPCs until they are all dead can be fun, but it won't add much to the story. In this workshop we will work on making combat more dynamic and full of story beats by adding interesting and interactable elements to the environment and secondary objectives to complete during the encounter.

About me

I love TTRPGs! I have been playing D&D and other TTRPGs for about 15 years, I have been GMing for the last 6 years, and I have been GMing professionally for the last 2 years. I already work as a GM for three companies (Wizard Staffing Co, Rough Magic, and Chicago Role Players' Guild) but I wanted to expand my reach into the online world. In my years of GMing I have found that I really enjoy facilitating fun experiences for others and I love telling stories collaboratively. I went to collage to study acting and voiceover and I like to use what I learned along with my over 15 years of improv training to bring my stories and NPCs to life. I also use what I learned as an improv teacher to teach GMing workshops and offer private GMing coaching. I am friendly and respectful and so excited to GM for cool people!
