About the adventure

Across the realm, ancient ruins lie half-buried beneath forests and forgotten roads. Temples crumble, relics sleep beneath the earth, and stories of lost civilizations linger in quiet corners of the world. Yet beneath this fragile calm, whispers travel from city to city rumors of a hidden cult moving in secret, spreading corruption through faith, power, and fear. In this campaign, you will travel across the world as a band of adventurers, exploring mysterious locations, uncovering lost knowledge, and piecing together the truth behind a secret cult working from the shadows. Your choices will shape how the story unfolds as you investigate strange events, navigate political intrigue, and confront the forces manipulating the world from behind the curtain. This game is designed for players who enjoy exploration, worldbuilding, mystery, narrative-driven adventures, and high-stakes combat. Expect ancient ruins to explore, dangerous encounters, meaningful choices, and battles where the outcome truly matters. Whether you are a veteran player or newer to D&D, the focus is on collaborative storytelling, character growth, and the thrill of discovering what lies beyond the next horizon.

About me

Hi! I'm Lorenzo, a Game Master with 6 years of experience running tabletop RPGs both online and at public events, conventions, and gaming fairs. My games focus on cinematic storytelling, tactical combat, and immersive worlds where player choices truly shape the story. I love mixing epic fantasy with darker and horror elements to create memorable adventures. Thanks to my background in improvisation, and voice acting, I bring NPCs and stories to life with character voices, music, sound effects, and custom maps. I welcome both beginners and experienced players, and I run games in Italian, English, and Spanish. If you enjoy deep storytelling, tactical challenges, and collaborative worldbuilding, you’ll feel right at home at my table.

Character creation

Creating your character

Before the campaign begins, we will review characters together through chat (free of charge) to make sure everything is ready for the game and fits well within the campaign setting. Character ability scores will be generated using the 4d6 drop the lowest method, and players are free to assign the rolled values to their abilities in any order they prefer. Characters will begin the campaign at Level 3 and progress up to Level 10 over the course of the adventure. Character sheets can be created using D&D Beyond, or as a PDF using the official Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition character sheet. Sheets can then be uploaded to the Owlbear Rodeo VTT, which will be the virtual tabletop used during the game. The following official books are allowed for character creation: - Player’s Handbook - Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything - Xanathar’s Guide to Everything - Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse If you would like to use character options from other books, please contact me first so we can review them together.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Sessions will be held through Discord for voice communication and Owlbear Rodeo as the Virtual Tabletop, so players will need an account on both platforms. Players should also prepare their character sheet ahead of time, either using D&D Beyond or a PDF of the official Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition character sheet. Character sheets can then be shared via link or uploaded to the VTT before the session begins. Players are asked to send their character sheets before the campaign starts, so I can review them and better integrate their characters, backstories, and motivations into the world and the ongoing story. Making sure everything is set up in advance will help the session start smoothly and allow everyone to jump straight into the adventure.

What Lorenzo brings to the table

I aim to create an immersive, story-driven experience where player choices truly matter. The campaign will feature a rich world full of secrets, exploration, and evolving storylines shaped by the actions of the party. I enjoy weaving character backstories into the narrative so that each player feels personally connected to the world and its events. During sessions, I use ambient music, soundscapes, and character voices to help bring the world and its inhabitants to life. Expect a mix of roleplay, investigation, and exploration, with memorable NPCs and locations that evolve as the story progresses. Combat will be high-stakes and meaningful, often requiring tactical thinking and teamwork. While I respect the Rules as Written, I also appreciate moments of creativity and the Rule of Cool is a must, especially when players come up with more clever or cinematic solutions. Overall, my goal is to create a table where players can enjoy immersive storytelling, challenging encounters, and collaborative worldbuilding, while having the freedom to explore the world and shape the direction of the adventure together.

Homebrew rules

I only use one house rule which is: death saves will be made my be without revieling the result. Instead i will narrate a memory or a vision of the character that lets assume the result. This way we keep immersion and tension high in this life or death moments.
