About the adventure
This game is set in the Trench Crusade universe. It looks to expand on some of the most mysterious lore to be found in it, while maintaining the grimdark horror of a world without hope. If you're looking for mystery, mud, and horror, you'll find it here in spades! Also expect shovel humor like that gem. With lore as dark and murky as this, a system has to rise up from muck to complement it. Shadowdark is that system. Light and dark, life and death, all balance on a knife's edge in a system as old school as trench warfare itself. While the story might march you out of the trenches, the Dark never leaves you for long...

About me
I'm a long time gamer looking to get out of boring office work, and work in a field I deeply enjoy. Why not this one? I have been gaming for almost 25 years now. I started with D&D and over time my tastes and rulesets expanded to where they are now. I started as a player, but over time I stepped up to relieve our Forever GM. I have GMed campaigns, one shots, and everything in between at this point.

Creating your character
Players will be bringing 4 level 0 characters to the first session. There will be some slight modifications made to the gear your characters can start with to account for the technology level of the setting.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A free Discord account will be needed for voice chat. Same for Foundry VTT. A player account will be necessary but is free.
What Zach brings to the table
I fully intend to immerse you in a grimdark so deep, you can't see past the dim light of your torch. Only the faintest glimmer of hope will pull you onward. Combat and exploration will be deadly, but fair. Character death is always an option, but almost never an inevitability.
Homebrew rules

How Zach creates a safe table
My X, N, and O's can be messaged digitally or held up on screen, whichever way works for you. We will take a 5-10 minute break about 2 hours in for people who need it. I also have an open door policy. If you need to leave for reasons of safety and your mental health, there'll be no hard feelings! Hopefully it doesn't come to that however.
