About the adventure
"Growing up in the temples couldn't have prepared you for what's in front of you. Now, young Padawan, you must decide for yourself, not simply obey what your master has told you." Many years after the fall of the Empire, the Jedi Order once again found its roots in the galaxy. Not wanting to repeat the mistakes of the past, Grandmaster Luke Skywalker set his path to constructing a new foundation for the Jedi. Different temples were established; each one focused on different specializations in the Force, allowing for transient years of tutelage in all available disciplines. It was a perfect balance, everyone thought. A system established to combat the isolative nature of a traditional Order, the Jedi had decided on a seasonal nomadic system that constantly evaluates the student's - and master's - relationship to the Force. As time passed, this system was revised to allow a friendship with the Matukai and the Baran Do Sages. What's resulted from it is a tutelage in the Force the likes of which history has never seen; several opposing disciplines are being taught in tandem, all without the dogma of a militaristic government weighing down upon it. The Purge is now remembered as both a failure to trust the Force and a reminder of what happens when those in charge stray from the Light. Now, a new shadow has been cast upon the galaxy. Reports of vicious strikes on small townships in the Outer Rim have gone unanswered for years. Just recently, the damages from these raids have intensified beyond expectations. Petty thievery has turned into the burning of villages; food stores are being requisitioned by strangers in masks; it's even been said that a few of them carry the weapon of the Jedi. The major players in the galaxy - the New Republic, Imperial Remnants, and The Banking Clan, among many others - have either stated their lack of fear toward them or have refused to report on them entirely, denying their existence altogether. In response, the Jedi have altered their training methods seemingly overnight. More sparring, more entry drills, and more CQB drills are introduced with each passing day. Rumors fly through the halls of a recent collaboration with an Iridonian Special Operations division, though none are sure what purpose it held. The energy in the Anaxes Strategy and Leadership Institute now echoes that of a few decades ago, when war was casual conversation and backroom deals were common. The Wildlife Defense Force on Rodia has offered their best for environmental study and operations. All of this brings a burning question to the minds of you and many of your peers, centered around a mutually unshakeable pit of fear and doubt: How long before your first battle? The six of you, however diverse in relations as you may be, have been selected for special training under Jedi Knight Ijo Mar, the former Captain of Mon Cala's Planetary Defense Force. For better or worse, you will have each other, and that will have to be enough.

Meet the Game Master
About me
A player of 10+ years and a GM of 5 years, I've been in this world of storytelling and plot crafting for about as long as I've been a writer. I've done live theatre and voiceover work, and I bring that experience into my GMing, guaranteeing every NPC you meet will feel like another player at the table (just not as important as you). I am an avid fan of Star Wars and Dungeons and Dragons, typically preferring homebrew to RAW settings.

Creating your character
Rules on Character Creation: - +10xp to Species for the purposes of raising Attributes. - +150xp as if earned in session, meaning cannot be used to raise Attributes. - Cannot bring a characteristic above a 4. Backstory: We will work together on how your character has existed in the Order until the time of Session 1. Padawans in this world are young adults, age range of 18-24, but may be older. This Order accepts all who are sensitive to the Force, however old or young they may be. Get creative with it. This Order allows for more expressions of love, embraces the emotional aspect of the individual on a far deeper level than the Old Order ever did. Play around with different character types.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To be considered for the game, you must have: - An RPGSessions account for character sheets and game rolls. - Discord for communication and art viewing. That's it! This game will be a blend of landscape/room arts and Theatre of the Mind for specifics, the style this system was made for.
What Sangrius brings to the table
I prefer to run RP-Heavy Breathing World games, which just means that: 1. Your actions have consequences, even in places you might not think. 2. Rule of Cool and Rules as Written are blended in this game. 3. This game will have a combination of GM initiated plot lines and Player initiated plot lines. Rule of Cool is the exception, but not a rare one. I generally implement Rule of Cool to reward creative, out of the box thinking for players who embrace the narrative of the scene and are immersed in their characters. When it comes to combats, I try to avoid "just because" combats. This is a story-driven game written with intentionality and plot progression as the main focus. This should feel like we're writing a story together, not that you rolled badly on a random encounter list. Behaviors I do not tolerate: - Hogging the Talking Stick. There is a difference in a character who's in the spotlight a little too long because they're excited, and a player who thinks they deserve more time and will shoehorn it in. Over the years I have learned to spot this behavior, and I have zero tolerance for it. - Anti-Social Behavior. Do not make the edgy assassin character that sits and broods in the cantina, and then get upset when no one wants to interact with you. Edgy can be done right, but not at the expense of the players you are sharing the table with.
Homebrew rules
You may use Dark Side Points as a LS character without spending Destiny Points, but you must take 1 strain and 1 Conflict for each point you use. The Dark Side should be tempting, but not without consequence. Crafting has been revised from a meta campaign I used to run with. The document provided makes crafting much easier to comprehend, and has fundamentally made it better than RAW. Wash Rules (Optional): In the event of a roll that results in 0 Successes with no other results, the player may upgrade both sides of the pool and roll again, including the number of boosts, setbacks, and Force Dice when relevant. In a Wash Escalation, the number of boosts, setbacks, and Force Dice do not change.

How Sangrius creates a safe table
Lines and Veils document will be sent during Session 0. I have a Player Consent checklist you are required to fill out and hand to me before Session 0, which you will know the date of 2 weeks beforehand. In the event of an "X" card, the game is immediately paused and we will take a 10 minute break. Afterward, I will pull the player aside and attempt to reach a resolution. Retcons or slight alterations will be done, but depending on the state of the player or the circumstances of the game, the session may end early. To activate an X, N, or O card, any combination of DMing me, speaking it aloud, or any other method you are comfortable with is valid.
