About the adventure

Which flesh is your flesh?...Join me as I lead you through a homebrew dark horror fantasy based on the Italian artist Plastiboo's Vermis series. Grieving knights, grand architecture, old gods, curses, and viscous monsters. You must prepare for trials, tribulations, and death as we hack n slash our way through what is considered the younger paper brother of the Dark Souls series. Your mistakes could cost you everything. Fight against the hollowing of your soul as you search for meaning in this deeply human game. Using the Dark Souls TTRPG for our mechanics (a Dungeons & Dragons 5e system with advanced combat) and unique Vermis inspired status effects we venture through the dying world of Vermis...May Dorvis guide your way. Oops all humans. Dungeon crawl. Advanced combat mechanics. Light roleplaying. New players and veterans are welcome. Warning: Dark themes & violence

About me

Names Alexander. Graduated at UTD in mechanical engineering and currently work for an MEP Arch firm that specializes in designing restaraunts. Chili's, Hopdoddy, Hideaway Pizza, etc.. Ive been playing dnd and tabletop games for roughly 20 years. I've always been a daydreamer to a fault which made focusing in school kinda hard. I wanted to pilot mechs, plumb dark alien ruins, raise my sword with Aragorn at the black gate, traverse the spice laden dunes of Arrakis, kindle the flame; finish the mission. My imagination just kept churning...It wasn't until my first year of college that a buddy of mine introduced 3rd edition Dnd to me. We played a short game, maybe an hour, with just me and him, but within that session I found the outlet I never knew I needed. Dnd actually changed me for the better. Before long I was cranking out sessions of my own, leading weekly games at my local gaming store. I have run at least 10 WotC modules in some capacity with a big heavy lean on Tomb of Annihilation. I love me some dinos and zombies. I have completed that module 3 times with the final time having my brother step in as a cameo as Acerack.(it was awesome) Countless oneshots, that one Rick n Morty adventure..And when Covid hit, I of course went online to continue playing. I had more to say, but the word count cut me off lol. Join my discord channel and get to know me!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will create characters on my Discord channel before our session 0. Contact me and we can schedule a time to get everything squared away. Using the Dark Souls TTRPG & The Tome of Journeys books we pick one of the 4 Origins for starting attributes followed by a class (Knight, Warrior, Pyromancer, Wanderer, etc...) We will start at level 1. Since we are using Plastiboo's art books I'd refrain from looking at them until after the adventure. However, once completed I recommend honoring Plastiboo and purchasing one of his works!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need to join my Discord server and create a Roll20 account. Additionally you will need to be able to either edit or print out the custom character sheet I provide you.

Example: (A ray of Sunlight will cure your dread. Resting in a grotto will cure your Slumber. Drinking or bathing in clean spring water will cure your petrification.)
