About the adventure

The world has become overgrown and much of what was once civilization is now gone. Survivors have long gone from generation to generation, even amongst the longer living species. What the world was once is lost to history save for the oldest of beings. The world is wrought with chaotic beings that have been driven wild and changed into nightmarish creatures. The world, it seems, may be ready for development and change once more. Were you a loner traveling around just trying to survive best you can? Did you and a small group band together for a period using your collective skills to get by? Were you part of a community that managed to build together already? You may each choose to start in different areas or together as a group or anywhere in between. The world is yours to explore and build. There will be some joint world building that goes on in the existing world itself. You will be asked to contribute a bit to the world lore so as to help immerse yourself into it.

About me

I have played Dungeons and Dragons since I was a child. It was something I grew up with. Over the years I have played in both private games in-person and over discord as both a Dungeon Master and player. While I have experience in running modules I have become attached to creating my own worlds and personalized storylines. At this point I have almost 30 years of play under my belt with about 12 years of that being a DM. I have worked with other DM's worldwide to develop my talents in providing an immersive experience and story writing. My latest ventures have been in westmarch style play but I am trying to transition back to running more formal style, personal games.

Character creation

Creating your character

Bear in mind that this is a dark horror game. There are books available for it and you are welcome to play who/how you want. Adventure based content will not be available but there are a handful of Homebrew subclasses if you are interested in trying them out. Survival is the story here with the chance of building up to something grander. How will you help to re-build the world into something where civilization can once again thrive? Or will you instead work to keep things as they are, for change would not suit your lifestyle at all? The choice is yours.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will simply need to create accounts on Discord and DNDBeyond if you do not have ones already. They are free accounts and you do not need to do anything more beyond that, I can guide you from there if you are unfamiliar with those systems. You can use these on either your computer or a mobile device.

What DM - Stile brings to the table

I will have a discord server available for us to use for communication and a campaign link for us to use as well. Maps and art will be available for as much as I can provide along with giving you all an incredibly in-depth, narrative experience as the world is explored by you. There will be mysteries to explore, NPC's to meet and interact with, and plenty of surprises around every bend!

Homebrew rules

1) Insight It Out - If ever you are stuck and not sure where to move forward with something, you can roll an Insight check to try and clarify what you currently know. Coalating it to get an idea of what moves are available to you. 2) Potions - Taking a potion is a BA whereas administering one to someone else is an Action. 3) Death - Death is not the end. There are many means by which one can return from beyond.

Safety

How DM - Stile creates a safe table

Considering I will be running this as a PBP style, I will be using X, N, & O style notifications. It can either be applied to a message via Reactions in Discord, or it can be messaged directly. However you feel comfortable. The story will develop and be written as the sessions progress, but if there are any subjects or matters that are a hard-no for anyone that can be brought up in Session 0 or at any point to me.
