About the adventure
This is a short campaign that will play out over approximately six sessions. It will be a great way for beginner players to dip their toes into DnD without making a long-term commitment, or for intermediate players to experiment with a new class or build. This campaign will largely be a dungeon crawl, which means it will focus primarily on the combat and exploration aspects of DnD, although there will also be social encounters that allow for roleplaying (so yes, you WILL get to use that Scottish accent you've been practicing). The campaign will start on June 9. We will have sessions every two weeks for the rest of the summer (or until the campaign is ended). We will use the 2024 5.5e rule set.

About me
Hail and well met! My name is Chris! I've been a lover of fantasy and gaming since I was a kid. I'm currently a high school teacher of English, history, and psychology. I love watching a story come together and watching a party be creative and build synergy and power throughout a narrative. Beyond games and stories, I love travel, music (playing and listening), the outdoors (biking, kayaking, skiing), and reading (history, culture, religion, and philosophy).

Creating your character
Once you join the campaign, I will send you a link to the Discord server and DnD Beyond campaign. You will make your character in advance. We will handle "session 0" issues ahead of time through chat so that once our first session rolls around, we will be ready to start adventuring. I'm happy to guide new players through character creation. I will also have content sharing enabled, so you'll have numerous character options that you may not have access to on your own. Character options from any official sourcebook are fair game.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The only things you'll need to play are a free DnD Beyond account and a free Discord account.
What Chris brings to the table
-I use visual backdrops for scene-setting during times when the party isn't on a map, along with thematic background music to help create ambience. -I set up combat to allow for tactical choices and maneuvering. I provide challenging combat and exploration encounters to test the party and keep things exciting. I set up open-ended social encounters that allow players to bring their characters to life and showcase their personalities. -I was a beginner not TOO too long ago myself, and I am happy and prepared to help new fans of the game learn the ropes.

How Chris creates a safe table
Normal rules of etiquette and propriety apply. If anyone is rude to/inconsiderate of another player, that will be addressed ASAP. If it occurs again or is particularly egregious, they'll be booted right away. If there are any specific concerns, players are always welcome to message me to address them.
