About the adventure
You will be playing as the survivor of a shipwreck. You, your fellow players, and a few other passengers and crew from the ship have washed up on an unknown tropical island after being attacked by pirates. The game will focus on survival and exploration. You will explore the island, look for food and water, find a safe place to stay and ultimately, a way to leave the island and continue on your initial voyage. And then of course, there is the matter of why the pirates attacked your ship in the first place, and why they fought an entire crew just to take off with one, single chest... Play is focused around lower levels, you will begin at level 1 and progress until level 3 or 4. We will make characters together during the first session, to make sure everyone has a good reason to be on the ship as well as a connection to some of the other crew or passengers.

About me
Hey there! I'm Pluis, or Erik in more mundane circumstances. I have been hooked on roleplaying games since I was first told by a friend that "we have a game where you play the hero and roll dice" and leading them since he said "When you're the DM you can make up whatever worlds and stories you like". That was 20 years ago, and I've run many a table since. I've run campaigns from the basic to the bizarre, hosting for beginners and experienced players, laidback peeps and chaos gremlins, deep roleplayers and casual dice chuckers... and all those games are great, because there's just nothing like sharing a table and spinning a story with people and seeing where it all takes you. My focus has always been on exploration, mystery and a bit of magical wonder. I enjoy making worlds and stories that surprise players, and then give them every opportunity to leave their mark on it. And now I am here, because I feel it is time to try and reveal my final form... playing online, with people from all over the world. Want to come explore some new worlds with me?

Creating your character
Characters will be created during the first session. Feel free to come up with an idea of who you'd like to play, why you were travelling and who you brought with you. But keep it to a concept, not a fully fleshed out persona. It's more fun to make characters together, so you can start with a connection to some of the others.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need to join my Discord Server, as we will use it for video & audio during session. You will need a free account with The Forge to join the campaign world. Foundry will be used as the VTT. Make sure you have access to a computer or laptop (no mobile device), with a modern browser, a working internet connection, a microphone and ideally a webcam.
What Erik brings to the table
For this game, I will be teaching you Daggerheart! I will provide a story, plenty of excitement, tough choices and a whole island that you can explore in any direction you like. There will be a virtual table you can join from your browser, where we'll keep your character and your notes. You can ask me questions through Discord. I will adapt the story around your characters and ideas, so if there are adventures you'd really like to have on the island, or people you'd really like to share a shipwreck with, make sure to let me know and I'll see what I can do!
Homebrew rules
This game will not be using any homebrew rules - the goal is to teach you Daggerheart as it's normally played.

How Erik creates a safe table
We will be using the X/N/O cards, which you can either state out loud, or send to me in chat. (I will be monitoring Discord private messages during the game for this) My DMs will be open in general for concerns, and we can skip or revert most things that might be problematic for any players. At the end of each session, there's room to leave feedback in the form of stars and wishes.
