About the adventure
The Sunless Citadel was once a secret stronghold of the Cult of the Dragon, located in the foothills northwest of Thundertree. It plunged into the earth when Mount Hotenow erupted and threw Neverwinter into chaos. Over the centuries, The Sunless Citadel has been left forgotten, except in legend, until a recent earthquake on the Sword Coast unearthed its secret entrance. The quiet town of Oakhurst rests at the base of the mountains, luckily sustaining no real damage from the recent natural disaster. However, a caravan of traders was known to be in the mountains at the time of the earthquake, who has not arrived for their scheduled delivery. A small group of adventurers formed, hoping to find and rescue the missing caravan. They were astutely lucky, and were successful in rescuing the trading caravan from certain death. They had been buried and stranded. During the excavation and successful rescue, the party of adventurers discovered the entrance to the legendary Sunless Citadel. First escorting the rescued trader back down the mountain to the safety of the town of Oakhurst and restocking, the adventuring party returned to the mountains to explore the sunken citadel. This was nearly a month ago, and the party has not been seen since. Can you find and rescue the adventures? Discover a classic dungeon delve where mysteries and secrets are abound. Play as level 3 characters in an epic one-shot adventure! Special character creation rules will be provided in Discord, including magical items and a free starting feat.
