About the adventure

The lands have fallen into disarray. War, famine, and chaos grip the continent. The future now rests in your hands. What story will you carve into this troubled world? āš”ļø The factions of the realm are vying for power. Will you stand with them… or against them? šŸ›”ļø ā˜€ļø Will you bring justice to the people, or descend the world further into madness? 🧟 🌠 Will you rise as the heroes this continent so desperately needs? 🌠 šŸŽ² May the dice ever fall in your favour. šŸŽ² • This is an open-world fantasy sandbox campaign exploring a wide range of themes with a strong focus on player agency. • Your choices will shape the world and influence the people within it. Your decisions truly matter. • Create the character you’ve always wanted to play, and watch their story unfold. Your backstory will play an important role in the narrative, and I’ll work to weave it directly into the campaign. You can expect a narrative-focused game with roughly a 60/40 roleplay-to-combat balance, blending deep storytelling with satisfying combat, humour, mystery, and a little chaos along the way. šŸ’° Session 0 is completely free. šŸ’° šŸ’™ A welcoming and inclusive space for players of all backgrounds. Beginners are absolutely welcome, and I’m always happy to help new players learn the game. šŸ’™ šŸ˜Ž Hope to see you at the table soon! šŸ˜Ž

About me

Hello! I’m Marcus, a UK-based professional Game Master and musician specialising in long-form tabletop RPG campaigns. Over the past five years, I have developed several detailed homebrew settings designed to support rich, character driven stories and immersive worldbuilding. My background in music and film production strongly influences how I run games. I aim to create cinematic, thematic experiences that combine atmosphere, pacing, and narrative depth. Collaboration is at the heart of my tables. I work closely with players to weave their characters into the world so that their choices meaningfully shape the story. I have been playing and running tabletop RPGs since 2018, primarily in Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. My games focus on strong storytelling, memorable roleplay, and engaging decision making. Players can expect sessions that balance drama, humour, tension, and impactful moments that feel earned through play. Creating an inclusive and welcoming environment is extremely important to me. I strive to ensure that every player feels comfortable, respected, and able to explore their character’s story within a supportive table. Ultimately, my goal is to deliver games that stay with players long after the session ends, stories filled with laughter, suspense, emotional highs, and unforgettable adventures shaped by the group. šŸ³ā€šŸŒˆLGBTQIA+ Friendly and Beginners welcome. Happy to teach and assist any way I can. šŸ“§If you have any questions or would like to join a campaign, feel free to reach out. I’d love to roll some dice together.šŸ“§

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will start with the following: • Level 3 using the 2014 standard rules • Average/Fixed HP • Standard Array or Point Buy for ability scores • Any official D&D content from the 2014 ruleset • Homebrew may be allowed with prior approval • 1 free feat • 1 Uncommon magic item • 1 Common magic item • A backstory of any length (more details below) • Character art or a token for the VTT Character sheets can be created and managed through Roll20, which will be available upon request. Access links will also be provided through my Discord server (listed below). I like to work directly with each player when developing their character. During this process, we’ll shape your backstory together and weave your character naturally into the world, connecting them to existing towns, cities, factions, and ongoing events. If needed, we can also create new elements of the world to support your character’s story. My goal is to help you build a character you’re genuinely excited to play and see develop throughout the campaign. If you need any help with character creation or have questions about the campaign, feel free to reach out to me anytime on Discord.

What Marcus brings to the table

• Beginner-friendly guidance and explanations • A living, breathing homebrew world • Custom maps and tokens • Memorable NPCs and engaging enemies • Character voices and accents • Music and ambience to enhance scenes • Visual aids to support storytelling • Nearly a decade of experience with D&D • A genuine passion for storytelling and GMing My goal is to create a campaign where everyone can enjoy themselves, full of emotional moments, comedy, tactical challenges, and the occasional bit of chaotic fun. If you’re new to the game, I’m always happy to help you learn the ropes. For more experienced players, I aim to provide the kind of classic, engaging sessions that make tabletop RPGs so memorable. While I generally stick to the rules, I also enjoy embracing the Rule of Cool when the moment calls for it, especially when it helps your character shine. If you're unsure about joining, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to chat, answer questions, and help however I can.

Safety

How Marcus creates a safe table

A free Session 0 will be held before the campaign begins to cover important information and ensure everyone is comfortable at the table. During this session, we will: • Introduce ourselves and get to know the group • Go over the basics of D&D for any new players • Provide an overview of the world, setting, and current events • Discuss table expectations, etiquette, and group dynamics • Review safety tools and establish clear boundaries for the game After sessions, we will also spend a short amount of time on post-session check ins, where players can share what they enjoyed, what could be improved, and any other thoughts or feedback. For safety tools, X, N, and O cards will be available digitally and anonymously through Roll20. In addition, a consent form will be provided in Discord so players can privately indicate themes or topics they would prefer not to appear during the game. These steps help ensure the game remains comfortable, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone involved.
