About the adventure
Embark in a journey around the numerous Domains of Dread and fend off their dastardly Dark Lords in this campaign for Dungeons and Dragons 5e (2014 handbook) that combines epic adventure with a tinge of classic horror tropes to create an atmosphere of gloom broken only by the rays of hope your characters will bring to these doomed de lands. Monsters have always been a threat to the societies around them. How can a city prosper if there's a dragon stalking its fields, or how can a fishing village subsist if there’s an aboleth residing in its waters? To that end, hunter’s guilds have always appeared to help subdue these threats and restore peace to troubled lands. This hunting guild, however, is a bit different. Famed vampire killer, monster hunter and mist wanderer Rudolph Van Richten is rumored to have opened a new guild that aims to hunt some of the biggest threats imaginable, the Dark Lords that preside over the Domains of Dread. These abominations don’t (usually) spew fire like dragons or erase cities like tarrasques, they pose a much more insidious threat. They preside over domains isolated from the rest of their worlds, closed off by mists that kidnap and ensnare entire countries and continents so that the Dark Lords can torment its inhabitants for eternity. From mad scientists, to ancient mummy lords to the famed vampire count Strahd Von Zarovich, these individuals have tormented everyone around them for millennia, and this torment can no longer be permitted or endured. Van Richten promises to put an end to all of them once and for all. For this purpose, he’s created this guild to recruit valiant heroes and monster hunters to brave the domains of dread and rid them of their foul masters. The only question that remains is: will you be up to the task?

About me
Hi everyone!!! The name's Fruit (he/him). I'm a Spanish-based GM with close to a decade of TTRPG experience, and let's just say that what started as a group of high schoolers fooling around with some dice quickly spiraled out into a passion for worldbuilding and storytelling that has never really died down. My games have always centered around making my players's characters feel special and involved with the plot, and that includes creating custom storylines, designing specific homebrew, and adjusting the style of play so that everyone enjoys themselves at my table. Personally, I enjoy creating my own homebrew settings as I feel it helps with character integration, but I've been known to run prewritten modules and adventures as well as making games based on well-known books, TV shows, videogames, and more. In that regard, I'm also very open to direct requests from players and groups that already have an idea for a game and just need a GM to get it started. Last but certainly not least, I would like to make clear that I intend my games to be as much of a safe space as possible. To that end, I will provide safety tools as much as I can, and I will not take kindly to any type of discrimination at my tables.

Creating your character
Character creation will be addressed in session 0, but you are more than welcome to have some character concepts ready and discuss them with me beforehand. We will use the 2014 player’s handbook, all official books are welcome in character creation and there are no restrictions in terms of class and lineage. Characters will start at lvl 3 and will be using standard array for stats.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
The only requirements are a Discord and The Forge account (both free), and a working microphone and Internet connection. Cameras are optional
What Fruitpool brings to the table
I bring a tailor made campaign focused on player’s preferences and what they want to experience. This includes not only adjusting the combat/role play/exploration balance to the group’s liking but also fully integrating character’s stories into the plot. To help with the immersion of the game, you can also expect memorable NPCs, battle maps, background music and custom magic items and monsters to enhance the playing experience.

How Fruitpool creates a safe table
Starting off, there will be a free session 0 in which we will discuss not only the setting and character creation, but also our common expectations for the game and, most importantly of all, Lines and Veils. If you don’t feel comfortable discussing them in front of other people, feel free to tell them directly to me beforehand. The Domains of Dread and specially the Dark Lords that inhabit them draw pretty generously from elements of all types of horror stories, and with that they bring a lot of topics that can trigger players at the table. To that end, I've expanded the content warning list to all the topics that I can conceive might appear in a game, although I'm not certain that all of them might actually come into play during the game. I have done this because I’m completely ok with eliminating some of these elements if we decide so in session 0. There are many Domains of Dread to explore, but if the contents of one are not to the liking of the party, there will always be another domain waiting for them.
