About the adventure
It doesn’t stay in one place for very long. The house appears without warning and finds a way to lure its victims inside. No one who enters has ever returned. It has been burned to the ground, pulled apart, blessed by holy priests, but nothing has worked. It always comes back. Your party has been searching for the Death House for quite some time. Think about why your character seeks this cursed place. Did they lose somebody to it? Are they seeking a powerful item rumored to be held within? Do they perhaps know the history of the house and can’t ignore it? Whatever your reasons, you’ve managed to find the house together. You have this one chance to put an end to it. You might not get another. This game session will use the Daggerheart system, which promotes narrative collaboration between the players and the GM. This means you have the freedom to create things in the adventure. This story takes inspiration from the ‘Death House’ chapter in Curse of Strahd for D&D, but will be subject to change as per the creative freedom that Daggerheart provides.

About me
👋 Hey there! I'm a GM who absolutely loves running games. With five years of ttrpg experience under my belt, including three years as a GM, I bring a ton of enthusiasm and know-how to every session. I'm originally from Scotland, but I've been living in Japan for over a decade, working as an English teacher (sensei). My Japanese isn't perfect, but I get by just fine. I often play online games with fellow expats and run games in Tokyo. Because of the time zone difference, I might take a bit longer to respond, but I always try to reply as quickly as possible via SP or my discord server. For me, clear communication is key. I think most issues can be sorted out by talking things through, so I always offer a short, optional review session after each game. Before we dive into a one-shot, adventure, or campaign, I make sure to explain how everything will run to keep things smooth and fun for everyone. I look forward to rolling some dice with you!

Creating your character
We will be using Demiplane for character creation and game management. After you sign up for the session, you’ll receive an invite to my Discord server, where you’ll find additional details and the Demiplane group link. Level: All characters start at Level 2. Class: All allowed, including Void classes. No transformation abilities. Heritage: Pick an ancestry and community to establish your appearance and upbringing. Mixed and void ancestries and communities are allowed. Traits: Distribute -1, 0, 0, +1, +1, +2 across your traits. These traits are agility, strength, finesse, instinct, presence and knowledge. Hope: Begin play with 2 Hope. Equipment: Select weapons and armor, and record thresholds, inventory, and armor score as directed on your character guide. For level 2 characters please feel free to choose Tier 2 improved equipment. Background: Choose or create descriptions and answer background questions to flesh out your character’s history, appearance, and personality. We can do this during the session as well. Experiences: Based on your backstory, create experiences that make sense for you to have. These can be used later to give a bonus to your roll by spending hope. Domains: Choose your domain cards that are related to the class you chose. These give you some extra abilities for your PC. Connections: Use your Connection questions to tie your character to the party and to the world. We will create connections at the start of the game session.

What Scottish Sensei brings to the table
Full Access to Daggerheart — All purchased PDFs and Demiplane content, so you’ll have the rules and options at your fingertips. A Smooth Online Experience — An organized Discord server for scheduling and roleplay chat, plus an Owlbear Rodeo 2.0 subscription with custom maps to keep battles and exploration clear and engaging. Visual Immersion — Custom tokens and art assets that bring your characters, NPCs, and the world to life. Supportive GM Style — I focus on cinematic storytelling, collaborative roleplay, and tactical but fast-moving combat. Rules are important, but I embrace the Rule of Cool when it makes the story more exciting.
Homebrew rules
I don’t use additional homebrew rules. Daggerheart already encourages creativity and collaboration right out of the box. The system is designed for player driven storytelling, so if you want to try unique ideas or custom twists, we’ll work them into the narrative together in a way that fits the world.
