About the adventure
In space no one can hear you scream. If you: 🤔 Are curious about Horror RPGs 👽 Love the Alien franchise 👀 Like looking behind every corner 💀 Want to die abruptly and painfully ...then this is the game for you! Welcome to Hadley's Hope, a small colony tasked with evaluating the feasibility of mining operations in the planet. As a small prospecting unit, you've left on a surveying trip, as you do every week. Only this time, when you phoned in your report, no one answered. With a mounting sense of dread you drive back to the colony, the place that, over the last few years, you've begun to call home... In this one-shot game session you are not heroes. You are instead something much more interesting: people who are in way over their heads and can at best hope to survive. In this fully horror-focused one-shot, you will face mounting challenges, but the greatest one will be a simple question: can you survive?

About me
𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩, 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘫𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 - The Lopen, Oathbringer: Book 3 of The Stormlight Archive Hi, my name is Kenan and I've been GMing games since 2004. My #1 goal as a GM is to enable players to craft the story they desire and create the glue to allow all their expectations to mesh. I want sessions to be memorable, exciting and powerful but, above else, I want them to be YOURS. I am open to GMing basically anything outside of D&D. I really enjoy trying out and crafting stories with new systems: currently my favorites Fate, Pathfinder 2e, Draw Steel, FFG's Star Wars and the Cosmere RPG, but this list often changes! I make a point to listen to my players and try to incorporate any of their cool ideas into the games, so please speak out!

Creating your character
We will have a selection of premade characters available for the game. But feel free to pitch your own!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should have a microphone and ideally headphones (or at least some mechanism to avoid background noise intruding in the session). Players must have a Discord account which will be the main means of communication for the module and access to a browser that can run FoundryVTT. Other than that, players must be ready to enjoy a great game that may be the beginning of something that lasts!
What Kenan brings to the table
I will have FoundryVTT ready with all the necessary aspects for the session (maps, tokens, music, characters). The game will mostly be horror- and narrative-focused but may have some combat too so be ready for that! I will focus on the feeling of mounting dread and make sure everything supports that experience.

How Kenan creates a safe table
Firstly, we will use the Deck of Player Safety to quickly signal at the start of the session what themes and subjects might be sensitive and best avoided during the game. As this is a horror-centric One-shot, any player may take a break or even leave at any time if they're feeling uncomfortable. Additionally we will use the X, N & O's system, so if at any point you feel things are getting to a place you don't like, just message a simple X or N over Discord and I will immediately change course. Finally, there will be a scheduled break about halfway in to have a moment to breathe and check in with everyone before the final scene in the session!
