About the adventure
This campaign is for new and experienced players alike and will have a free session 0. This game is for players who love immersive roleplay, weighty choices, and cinematic, high-stakes conflict. Character backstories will matter. Faith will be tested. Redemption and ruin will sit side by side. If you enjoy dark atmosphere, layered mysteries, and epic confrontations with forces that blur the line between divine and profane, this is your story to step into. This dark fantasy campaign unfolds in a war-scarred realm where divine power is undeniable—and deeply unsettling. Cathedrals tower over starving districts, relics murmur in sealed crypts, and something vast and ancient presses against the veil of the world. The tone is ominous and mysterious, steeped in cosmic dread and fractured faith. Expect moral tension, slow-burn revelations, and the creeping realization that “holy” may no longer mean what it once did.

About me
I’ve been GM-ing for about five years, mostly D&D 5e, and I’m starting to get into 3.5e. I like player-driven games and adjusting the tone to fit the story and setting, whether things are serious or more laid-back. Most of my experience is running games for friends, so I focus on keeping sessions fun, flexible, and easygoing, and I’m always happy to help with rules or learning the game.

Creating your character
Any official content is permissible for use. Homebrew content will need to be reviewed for approval. Character creation can be done beforehand, but can also be done during session 0. Level 1 will be the starting point, and you can use any method you wish for stat rolls. You can use any either an online sheet (dndbeyond), a paper one, or a fillable pdf for your character sheets.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I will have a dedicated discord server for the campaign. The campaign will be on there as I will have all necessary materials like maps prepared on a shared screen in voice chat. It'll be a virtual tabletop campaign.
What Aurelian II brings to the table
I do a bit of a mix of Rule of Cool and Rules as Written. I'm flexible in the determinations of how actions and rules are intertwined. I utilize character voices for each important npc. Ambient music is used depending on the mood of the party. If the party would like some ambient music, then I'll have some going
Homebrew rules
Potions as bonus actions, rolling for a skill check gets harder the more attempts you make with the same method Any other homebrew rules can be brought up by players and implementation can be decided based on a party vote

Keywords will be discussed during session 0. A set 15 minutes post session will be dedicated to a check in with players on how they felt about the session. Keywords indicating an immediate stop or shift in scene can be messaged directly in cases where discretion is preferred by the requesting party. In such an event, communication will be held immediate to go over any sort of aid that member should/may need in that moment.
