About the adventure

Your journey begins on the road from the bustling town of Wayfare to the logging village of Thistlebrook. Whether you are a hired blade protecting the wagons, a merchant looking to harvest the rare herbs and exotic woods of the Whisperwood, or a traveler seeking a fresh start, the safety of the caravan is your only shield against the increasingly wild frontier. Thistlebrook has long been a haven for those seeking the riches of the forest, but the wood has begun to change, and the "Verdant Maw" is starting to open. This is a campaign of creeping change and escalating stakes. It begins with the mundane—panicked goblins fleeing the deep woods and ruins found overgrown overnight. But as you delve deeper, you will witness a world in collapse. You will encounter the Verdant Fever, a terrifying infection where the forest begins to rewrite the biology of those who venture too far, turning skin to bark and blood to corrosive sap. As the campaign progresses, the world will become more aware of the threat as the Whisperwood transitions from a familiar forest into a corrupted nightmare. Architecture will crack under the pressure of unchecked growth, and the air itself will thicken with cloying corrosive mists. Survival in the Whisperwood isn't just about the monsters you fight; it’s about whether you can keep your humanity before the forest claims you, root and stem.

About me

Greetings adventurers! I’m Arden, your guide through worlds of magic and mystery. My mission is to create unforgettable stories and immerse you in worlds where your imagination can run wild. My main approach to DnD is that it is a place for collaborative storytelling, where a group of stranger come together to weave an epic story all their own. With years of experience in storytelling and a passion for creating new stories, I hope bring creativity, adaptability, and a touch of magic to every campaign and one-shot. No matter if you are a seasoned adventurer or just embarking on your first adventure, I'm dedicated to making each session a memorable one.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players will be expected to make either a level 3 or level 5 character accirding to group preference. Any race/class combo is allowed, and we will be rolling for stats in Discord. Each player will have 4 points to spend on magic items, common will cost 1 point, uncommon will cost 2 points, and consumables are 50% the cost. As for the theme, your character should have a reason to be on the caravan to Thistlebrook. Perhaps you are a herbalist seeking rare spices, a woodcutter whose livelihood is threatened by the "root-cracks," or a pragmatic mercenary who has noticed the birds have gone silent. Characters with a connection to nature, a strong sense of community, or a drive to protect the world from unnatural change might find themselves particularly compelled by this threat. Morally gray backgrounds are fine, but you must be willing to stand together against the encroaching green; out in the Whisperwood, the only thing more dangerous than the trees is being alone.
