About the adventure

Whispers of a brilliant scholar, Professor Aris Thorne, who delved too deep, have reached you. His frantic, final message warns of a "dark, pulsating heart" and the chilling reality that he is being forcibly assimilated into the Twisted Wild's ranks, his powerful mind coveted by its new, ascended deity. This is not mere sacrifice, but a twisted apotheosis, as other powerful magic-users have already been bent to the new will. Your Level 13 party must brave profoundly elevated environmental hazards—sentient thickets, corrosive mists, and unstable terrain—to infiltrate the blight's core. There, you will face empowered zealots and horrific Symbiotic Beasts defending a Relic of Binding that channels the very essence of control. Rescue Professor Thorne and escape with his vital knowledge before his mind is utterly consumed and turned against you.

Creating your character
Players will be expected to make a level 13 character. Any race/class combo is allowed, and you can roll in discord for stats. As for the purchase of magic items, every character gets a number of points equal to half their level (rounded up). The cost of items is: Uncommon 1 point, Rare is 2, Very Rare is 3, and Legendary is 4, also consumables are 50%. However you can only pick items with a cost equal to your tier, so no legendary items at lvl 8 ;) The tiers are 1 is lvl 1-4, 2 is lvl 5-10, 3 is lvl 11-16, and 4 is lvl 17+. I also assume you have whatever spell components and adventuring gear you need for your level. As for the theme, your character should be heroic and capable of facing cosmic-level threats, with a strong motivation to combat pervasive evil or restore natural balance. How does your character react to seeing powerful minds corrupted and bent to another's will? Are they driven by a desire for knowledge, to protect civilization from this new threat, or to challenge the very nature of this forced "ascension"? Avoid overtly evil alignments; morally gray is fine, but you should be willing to help.
