About the adventure
A reimagining, retelling of the Humblewood campaign, with a focus on character building and the impact of choices. The original Everden map is used, but its inhabitants have changed, as well as the world's pacing. Years will pass as the Humblewood Heroes wage war on various fronts, dealing with martialing a volunteer force, supplying them, fighting the manifestation of natural disasters, etc. For those who don't know Humblewood, or need a refresher: Humblewood is a campaign in which players play as either Birdfolk or Humblefolk. 10 unique races, 5 in each camp, and this plays into light class/race discussions, nothing incendiary. The heroes solve the mystery of forest fires, they visit the pastures, swamps, and forests of Everden, as well as the Alderheart, the birdfolk capital, and the mountains, where bandits are holed up in a fortress. Ultimately leading the heroes to face down a force of nature. My adaptation is designed to be cozy and warm, but with a more sophisticated stories and characters. A primary change is that choices matter, including whether mercy is shown to criminals, uncovering political corruption or saving them for a favor, etc. However, it still has warm maps, menus with thoughtful delicious-sounding meals, and a cozy feeling that takes the edge off of rough topics. About me
I am a longtime TTRPG GM that loves D&D & GURPS, with a large library of books, art assets, and time to share with my players, it is my favorite thing to do. I am a huge fan of roleplay and often modify mechanics to benefit storytelling & session fluidity. I use Foundry VTT, which is free to my players, and includes vast customization options for every campaign & every participant. Please take a look at this Google Sheet for all of my GURPS games: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OIi-Yp_5L2k4LvJ_L-YxgZ_YF7QIsZr4h0PIoit8fKM/edit?usp=sharing

Creating your character
Character Creation will take place individually, with each respective player and the GM. Once both parties agree, the characters will be introduced to each other in a Session 0; during which, the players & GM ensure everyone has a solid understanding of the party members' abilities and proficiencies. Characters will be 1st Level, and character discussion will occur, both during initial creation with the GM and later during/after Session 0.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Bring a solid character idea, and maybe character art, with a token. You'll need to have Discord to communicate.
What John brings to the table
Foundry VTT, which is free to players and custom art assets & maps, some powered by AI. Ambient music will be used to set the tone and mood of a location or scene. This retelling is character driven, taking place over years, and with a heavy focus on real change. This change can be violent, peaceful, or somewhere in-between. Puzzles key to the story are light, but several side quests delve into deeper thought riddles & puzzles. Roleplaying the majority of the session will be to fully engross and engage every single player.
