About the adventure

The Adventure: Deep in the heart of the Spanish-speaking realms, a mystery unfolds. Whether we are exploring the ruins of an ancient civilization or negotiating with a shady merchant in a bustling tavern, every encounter is an opportunity to grow your hero and your vocabulary. This game uses the official 2024 D&D rules but is set in a world where Spanish is the "Common" tongue. The Learning Experience: This is a "Safe Space" for language learners (Level: Intermediate/B1-B2). As a Professional DM and native Spanish speaker, I provide a supportive environment where we play at a slightly more deliberate pace. I use "Scaffolding" techniques: if you get stuck, I’ll help you in English and then we’ll bring it back to Spanish. It’s 100% immersive, 0% stressful. My Style: I believe in the "Rule of Cool" and high-quality immersion. Expect professional maps, ambient music, and NPCs with distinct personalities. You aren't just taking a class; you are living a story.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will use D&D 2024 rules for character sheets in foundry vtt. I offer a Free Session 0 (or a 1-on-1 call) to help you build your character and assess your Spanish level. We will use the 2024 Standard Array or Point Buy for stats. All official books are welcome!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will use Discord for high-quality voice and video (video is optional but highly recommended to help with language comprehension through facial expressions) We will use Foundry VTT for our maps and visual aids. You don't need to pay for a subscription; I provide the pro-license access. You only need a stable internet connection and a web browser (Chrome or Firefox work best). A decent microphone is mandatory (we need to hear your Spanish clearly!). Headsets are preferred to avoid echo. Don't worry about your level! Just bring a notebook, a pen, and a positive attitude. The goal is to learn while having fun. Once you sign up, I will send you a short 3-minute questionnaire to understand your current Spanish level and your specific learning goals (e.g., 'I want to improve my past tense' or 'I need more vocabulary for social settings')

What gondar Dm brings to the table

As your Professional DM and Language Mentor, I provide a high-end, immersive environment designed to make you forget you are "studying" while you actually master Spanish. Here is what you can expect at my table: Native Language Expertise: I am a native Spanish speaker with a clear, neutral accent. I adjust my speaking pace to your level, ensuring you understand the plot while being challenged to grow. The "Language Loot" (PDF Glossary): Before every session, you will receive a curated "Cheat Sheet" with the vocabulary we’ll likely use (Combat verbs, social etiquette, spell descriptions in Spanish). Professional Immersion: I use Foundry VTT with high-definition maps and a cinematic soundtrack. I perform distinct voices and accents for NPCs to help you practice listening comprehension in a natural way. A "Safe to Fail" Environment: My GM style is supportive and patient. I embrace the Rule of Cool—if you can describe your epic action in Spanish (even with mistakes!), I’m more likely to let it happen! Real-Time Scaffolding: If you get stuck on a word, I’ll provide it in English and then we’ll translate it back to Spanish together so you never lose the flow of the story. Post-Session Recap: After each game, I’ll send a summary of the "Phrases of the Day" and any grammatical tips that came up during our roleplay.

Safety

How gondar Dm creates a safe table

The "Inspiration for Spanish" Rule: If you describe your character's action, a spell, or a social interaction using a new Spanish phrase or vocabulary word we just learned, you gain Inspiration! I reward effort and linguistic risk-taking. Potions as a Bonus Action: Drinking a healing potion yourself is a Bonus Action. Administering it to someone else is a Full Action. This keeps the combat flowing and prevents "turn-wasting." Healing Potions are Maxed: To avoid the frustration of rolling a "1" on a potion you spent gold on, all healing potions provide their maximum possible healing. Cinematic Critical Hits: When you score a critical hit, you deal max damage for the first die + roll the second die. This makes crits feel truly powerful and heroic! Failing Forward: If a skill check fails, the story doesn't stop. You might succeed with a "cost" or a complication, ensuring the narrative (and our conversation) keeps moving. Safe Language "Time-Out": We have a meta-rule where you can use a specific hand signal or keyword to ask for a translation or grammatical clarification "out of character" without breaking the immersion for long.
