About the adventure

This is a Vampire the Masquerade revised edition, good for anyone from those completely new to VtM, to experienced veterans. I will go through character creation and backstory with each player, and use those stories to weave a tale. While notable NPCs will have their schemes and agendas, i will try to accommodate players aims, goals, and priorities to the best of my ability, and your skill and luck.

About me

Hey, I am the Alchemedian, i've been playing and DM'ing for around thirty years, a whole bunch of systems, a whole bunch of games. I love bringing characters and NPC's to life, and encouraging others to do the same. I'm descriptive with my world, my in-game politics (i'd rather leave real world politics far away from my games, please), and my combat. I use a lot of humour as well, and try not to take my games too seriously, while still being immersive and realistic, think part Excalibur part Monty Pythons Holy Grail, and you probably get Discworld, which... yeah, more Discworld. I also work with players to create backstories together that grow the characters organically, and use their backstories to build any central story around.

Character creation

Creating your character

CC will be done in collaboration with myself over discord either by text or voice chat, using fillable PDFs, or if players wish, and can provide their own character sheets, they can fill out paper sheets using pencils. The system uses a point-buy format, details are given in the revised edition core book of how many points and where they can be spent, and i can help go over them during the creation process. I will help with creating a backstory, which will involve some one-on-one role-playing of certain scenes, specifically The Embrace; when your character was turned into a vampire. and their first meeting with a prince (the head vampire of a city) or their primogen (the head vampire of their clan in a city), and maybe some others depending on the backstory.

What Alchemedian brings to the table

In the City that Never Sleeps a kindred may find the perfect home, except for all the other damned vampires that is... It's 1967 the Summer of Love, the hippies are in the streets en masse, Andy Warholes' The Factory is a hotbed of the greatest musicians, artists, and performers of the time. The mafia, organised crime, and corruption, are rampant. Millions of kine going about there business unawares of the great Jihad being played out all around them. What more could a Cainite want? The central story will be built by weaving aspects of your characters backstories together. I aim to allow your characters as much autonomy as possible, however actions have consequences, and what you do, or say, will impact what happens. I tend more towards rule of cool, over RAW. i play pretty loose with established VtM lore, so Caine may or may not be the 1st kindred, clan Tremere may or may not have been created by mages diablorizing (feeding on an elder vampire) a Tzimice specifically. Etc... but the sects are what they are in established lore, and the clans are what they are in established lore. I do voices. I do not do ambient music or other sound effects. I do encourage role play, and often bring NPCs' from backstories, or recurring NPCs into the game to interact with the characters

Homebrew rules

falling to 3 or less Blood Points necessitates a Self-Control roll to avoid Frenzy, regardless of clan or Generation. DC 10- current BP (blood pool), to a minimum of 2 and maximum of 10. So if BP is on 3 points, DC is 7 (10-3). if BP is on 1, DC is 9 (10-1). Frenzy means your physical stats increase to 5 each if they are under 5, but you are unable to use skills or Disciplines, and must attack the nearest enemy first. If no enemies are around, then the next nearest person/animal/other. PvP is allowed Malkavian characters can be aware that they are characters in a TTRPG

How Alchemedian creates a safe table

There will be a Session 0 to discuss Lines and Veils, Triggers, and the themes and tones of the game. Stop and Go signals are to be verbal, or messaged to me during the game. If anyone needs aftercare they can talk to me at the end of a session, or message me to schedule a talk.
