Creating your character

Players will create their characters as part of the zero session. You may want to consider the Stellara Books Kinks & Cantrips and Advanced Kinks & Cantrips material available at https://stellarabooks.itch.io/. Please keep character concepts flexible as the zero session will include setting Lines & Veils. Players will have the option to swap two ability scores (Dexterity for Wisdom, for example) after character creation to better fit their character concept. Players can also take a penalty of -2 to one ability score to gain a +1 to another ability score. Up until level 5, players can respec their characters. Don't let numbers define your character. Players are encouraged to play up roleplay and into weaknesses.

Preparing for the session

Players will need: 1) Discord profile and to join the Gentle GM server 2) A mic and headphones (webcam is encouraged, but not required) 3) Computer access to Foundry (Foundry on tablet is experimental) Players can use physical dice if they prefer. Discord also offers Dice Golem for dice rolling.

Homebrew rules

See character creation above. Inspiration is awarded at the beginning of the session and can be used to reroll or to add +2 to the die result. Inspiration refreshes at the beginning of the session. If Inspiration is spent, it can be recovered by roleplaying or rolling a natural 1. Romantic and sensual consent between characters is very important and will be explicit whenever relevant. Characters and players can withdraw consent at any time. Kinks & Cantrips introduces Pleasure and Pain tracks that can work off of some abilities. Advanced Kinks & Cantrips introduces Sensation and Humiliation tracks, as well. We will incorporate these if player abilities interact with them. I'll also be using general guidance from Roll for Seduction, but not including their mechanical abilities. Nonlethal damage can be used to disrobe, banter, and otherwise disarm a sentient combatant in lieu of physical might. A nonlethally subdued combatant is generally more susceptible to charm or seduction when consenting.

How Caleb | The Gentle GM creates a safe table

For safety tools, you can expect: 1. The X Card hard pauses the session. No explanation needed. 2. Open Door: Step away or leave without penalty. 3. Content Warnings: These are in the listing and lean toward the expansive. Players are welcome to set boundaries on or before the campaign. Any questions? 4. Rating: I'm expecting an R game with adult situations, potential explicit material, violence, kink-play, and related material. 5. Lines: What content do we want to exclude altogether? 6. Veils: What content do we want to fade to black? 7. Fast forward/Rewind: Jump ahead or revisit due to sensitive content.
