About the adventure
Beneath the Crooked Moon is a dark fantasy folk-horror campaign using Dungeons & Dragons 5e, based on the third-party module The Crooked Moon by Legends of Avantris. This game leans into eerie atmosphere, slow-burn dread, and morally uncomfortable choices rather than heroic power fantasy. You will explore isolated settlements, haunted forests, and places where superstition and truth blur together. The world feels old, watchful, and deeply personal. Monsters aren’t just things to fight... they are reflections of fear, memory, and belief. Not everything wants to kill you. Some things want you to understand them. This campaign prioritizes: Immersive roleplay and mood Investigation, folklore, and creeping tension Consequence-driven choices Survival horror pacing with moments of violence and desperation Combat exists, but it is dangerous and meaningful. Running, bargaining, hiding, or making terrible compromises are often the smarter options. Characters will be challenged emotionally as much as mechanically. This game is best for players who enjoy horror, narrative weight, and collaborative storytelling. You don’t need to be a horror expert. You only need to be willing to engage with unsettling themes, respect table boundaries, and lean into the unknown. Expect a tone that is bleak, strange, and quietly intimate. The woods are listening. The Moon is crooked. And something ancient is waiting for you to notice.

About me
Hey you! I'm Neo! I'm a Forever DM that loves to tell an amazing story that has adventure and diversity at the forefront! I started hosting games during the pandemic because I wanted to tell a story to my friends while we were cuddled up in our homes. Since then I have led actual plays and become a homebrew designer and world builder. I also wrote the Nightskins Race for Dungeons and Dragons 5e I hope you'll come play with me!

Creating your character
Character creation will take place during Session 0. • Characters begin at Level 1 • Standard 5e character creation • Stats determined during Session 0 • Official WotC sources allowed; some restrictions may apply for tone • Horror-appropriate concepts encouraged over optimization. • All Neosoulgod Entertainment Homebrew is available for players at no additional cost. We’ll focus on: • Who your character was before the horror • What ties them to this land, road, or community • What fear or belief might haunt them later All character options and boundaries will be clearly communicated before play.
What to expect

What Neosoulgod brings to the table
• Strong atmospheric narration and tone control • Curated ambient music and soundscapes • Distinct NPCs and unsettling encounters • Horror pacing that respects player comfort • Clear rules adjudication with room for tension and creativity • Safety-first facilitation and transparent expectations My GM style favors: • Immersion over optimization • Consequences that feel earned • Player agency, even when choices are grim • Rule of Cool when it serves the horror I will challenge players—but always with consent, clarity, and care.
Homebrew rules
• Potion use as a bonus action • Horror-forward rulings for fear, stress, and consequences • Minor narrative adjustments to reinforce tone and tension All table rules will be explained clearly before play.
