About the adventure

Beneath the thin crust of civilization churns a vast psychic ocean, an invisible, collective undertow generated by repression, cruelty, shame, and desire. It is not divine. It is not alien. It is ours. Most people drift across its surface without ever realizing they are inches from drowning. A rare few are born thin-skinned to the pressure below. When the tide surges through them unchecked, it ruptures the world. These ruptures are called SINS. A SIN is a catastrophic manifestation: a predatory idea made flesh, a trauma weaponized, a contradiction given claws. They distort architecture, unravel probability, and overwrite the rules of matter in their vicinity. Each one is unique. Each one is hostile to consensus reality. Where they emerge, neighborhoods vanish, memories rot, and physics develops opinions. Governments deny. Corporations obfuscate. Religions reinterpret. CAIN acts. Operating above nations and beneath public awareness, CAIN is a supranational black directive with a single mandate: identify, pursue, and annihilate SINS before the damage metastasizes. It recruits from prisons, orphanages, black sites, research programs, and the psychic fallout zones left behind by prior incidents. It refines what it takes. It discards what it cannot use. You are an Exorcist, CAIN’s answer to the abyss. Exorcists are weaponized sensitives, surgically trained to enter psychic breach zones and survive contact with the impossible. Through invasive conditioning, experimental armaments, and disciplined self-mutilation of the psyche, you have learned to shape the same ocean that births SINS. You cut with it. You burn with it. You let it flow through you without capsizing. Every deployment is a hunt. Track the disturbance. Establish perimeter denial. Identify the SIN’s governing logic. Exploit its narrative weakness. Close distance. Break it apart at the conceptual joints. Extraction, debrief, Repeat. But proximity has a cost. The sea responds to those who stir it. The more you reach into it, the more it reaches back. Power is inseparable from contamination. Your tools are indistinguishable from the threat. CAIN measures success in terminated anomalies and acceptable psychological erosion. This is a game about tactical exorcism, asymmetrical supernatural combat, and the politics of weaponized trauma. Missions are precise, violent, and often surreal. Intelligence is partial. Objectives shift. Collateral is inevitable. Creating your character

Character Creation will be done during/after the Mandatory Session 0, and characters will be created following the process laid out in the CAIN core Rulebook on page 44. Players should have Accounts on the Following Platforms, Discord.gg (A server link will be provided upon sign-up. https://forge-vtt.com (The hosting service used for Foundry-VTT) Also recommend purchasing the Core Rulebook written by Tom Bloom. https://tombloom.itch.io/cain (Core Rulebook will not be provided, but simplified Cheat Sheet will be provided to players who need it.)

What Ginaku Tenshi brings to the table

Game master will provide ambience and music to fit the tone of the scene, Voices, Effects, and Accents as appropriate to individual NPC's. Visual Scenery and artwork may also be included as a special occasion.

How Ginaku Tenshi creates a safe table

Player safety is a high priority for me as a Game master. During session 0, we go over basic lines and veils, topics players are or are not comfortable with, and what sort of content will be displayed during the sessions. I will also send out a "Safety, and Consent Form" for players to fill out. And at the end of every session, I host a "Round Robin"/Stars and Wishes in order to gather feedback on things players enjoyed, things players didn't like, and what can be changed/improved in future sessions.
