About the adventure
Welcome to Eberron. The Last War has ended, but peace is fragile. Nations rebuild, Dragonmarked Houses maneuver for power, and dangerous artificer secrets resurface across the continent. In this campaign you are not following a single scripted story—you are carving your own path through a world full of opportunities, mysteries, and consequences. Explore towering cities like Sharn, investigate strange events on the Lightning Rail, hunt relics in forgotten ruins, expose conspiracies within the Houses, or chase rumors of lost technology tied to the Mourning. Each session offers multiple quests, rumors, and leads. You decide which ones matter. This campaign uses the themes and lore of Eberron: Rising from the Last War, with adventures inspired by Forge of the Artificer and expanded into a full open-world experience. Expect morally complex NPCs, meaningful choices, and a world that changes based on your actions. What makes this game unique: • Open-world quest structure – Multiple quests available at once. Not everything can be done in one run, giving replayability. • Player-driven story – Your choices shape alliances, enemies, and the future of the continent. • Epic & personal stakes – From helping refugees to stopping world-shaking magical disasters. • Balanced playstyle – Exploration, combat, intrigue, mystery, and roleplay. • Beginner-friendly – No Eberron experience required. Lore is introduced naturally. Tone: Pulp adventure with noir intrigue and moments of heroism. Starting Level: 3 System: D&D 5e (2024) Whether you want to hunt ancient relics, expose conspiracies, build alliances, or just chase rumors of treasure, this campaign lets you explore Eberron your way. Your story begins with a simple job… and a rumor about a lost artificer forge. What you do next is up to you.

About me
Hey there! I’m the GM behind Crit Happens Games. I started running games off and on since 2020 and continuously since 2025, and even though I’m still growing as a Game Master, I’ve discovered that creating worlds and stories where players can do just about anything they imagine is my favorite part of the game. My goal is simple: build a campaign that lasts — with players who want to show up, have fun, and make epic memories together. I love letting players stretch their creativity, whether that means training a combat pet, forging legendary gear, or inventing something totally unexpected. If it sounds fun, I’ll find a way to make it work in the story. When you join my table, you’re not just joining a game — you’re joining a growing world that reacts to your choices and celebrates teamwork, problem-solving, and the chaos of the dice.

Creating your character
Character creation will happen after session 0 once I have explained any lore and/or rules for players. This is to make sure that everyone is on the same page for Eberron. Characters will also start out at level 3.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need to join my Discord server and the campaign on Roll20. Links to both will be in the details section of the adventure once you join a specific time.
What Ryan brings to the table
I provide a welcoming, organized game with clear storytelling, meaningful choices, and a living open-world Eberron sandbox. I focus on integrating player backstories into the campaign so your character matters to the story. While I don’t rely heavily on character voices, I try to give clear descriptions of NPCs, their personalities and behaviors, engaging roleplay, and memorable situations. I don't at this time have ambient music to play during the game but that is coming soon. Combat is tactical but fair, and I use the Rule of Cool when it improves the story while keeping the game balanced. You can expect respectful table culture, consistent scheduling, and a GM committed to long-form campaigns where your decisions shape the world.
Homebrew rules
Drinking potions are a bonus action. Meaningful Crits will be used. I.e. if your damage dice says roll 1d8+4 you would automatically get a 8+4 equaling 12 and then roll an additional 1d8. This ensures that you always roll higher than you base damage. Flanking will give a +2 to your attack roll instead of advantage.

How Ryan creates a safe table
During session 0 we will discuss any lines and veils that players have and keep an in-game handout with this list. This list can be added to at anytime. I will also have built-in safety cards active. Players can at anytime for any reason ask to meet with me one on one. In these meetings players can discus anything such as uncomfortable content, player conflict, or anything else. This will be held in the highest confidentiality.
