About the adventure
Welcome to D&D with Niesa, never made with AI! "Will my dice be splattered with your blood, or that of your enemies today?" Get to meet beloved NPCs, go on daring adventures and exploration, risk death at the hand of your enemies, learn more lore of the Forgotten Realms and enjoy games for players of all experience levels. From an introduction and learn to play to those with many years under their belt this is a game that can be merged and blended so everyone still experiences something new. A band of misfit mercenaries gather together on different missions from their guild. Each episode will be a unique one-shot catering to level 5 characters. Designed to help you learn more of the world of Faerun, the traditional setting for Dungeons & Dragons, be it the maps, the lore, history, etc. For your character you can use any character builder you would like, using a variety of content for 5e, using 2014 rule sets please. Feel free to message me in the Discord if you have any questions about it! You would also be able to start with one common or uncommon magic item provided that you can explain owning it within character. To get the best immersion I can offer which helps those who are neurodivergent especially (I know I sure struggle with attention with 2D maps!), I use Talespire. Talespire utilizes as much immersion as online has to offer with sounds, 3D and customizations. It is a program that you can purchase through Steam but I also have purchased "Seats" - Which means you can play on the Guest Edition for FREE! If the program itself is difficult for you or not supported by your current system I am always open to screen sharing my own view onto the Discord channel for those who would like to watch but not interact. If you want to see how Talespire goes without being in a game I always welcome people to watch the games through my Discord server to see how well they will enjoy it. You even have the ability to use Talespire for your character sheets to be intigrated or for DnDBeyond to connect. The game will be kept clean, balancing combat and RP together with safety tools to keep everyone comfortable. No experience needed and very welcoming to new players and neurodivergence. My games are open to all ages as well! Before every one-shot there will be a brief session zero built in to go over things like concerns, limits, and house rules. I want to be sure everyone can have the best fun they are looking for, and what I should know about each of your characters for the best immersion experience I can offer. I have a very long trigger warning list not because you Will run into anything remotely like that, but because you could run into any of them in the variety of adventures that will be run.

About me
Will my dice be splattered with Your blood, or that of your enemies today? I run a welcoming table with as much immersion as possible, creativity rewarded and helpful patience for new players. Neurodiversity is welcomed and understood; and I like to keep the table fairly clean. If you'd like to see my style before sitting down to play I always welcome people to listen in and watch my games through my discord server. I prefer to utilize Talespire (one time puchase on Steam for the Full Edition, or message me to use my prepaid Seats which let you try the program for free with Guest Edition) when playing online because it brings in the use of 3D and player interaction far more than anything I have found (great for things like ADHD). It also helps integrate sound and ambiance. I am also able to screen share with Discord should you not wish to get Talespire yet. I started as a Dungeon Master many years ago. Through the joint effort of some of my friends I was pulled into playing in my first one shot led by a friend who has played since 1st Edition. His masterful story telling and knowledge of the Lore, Rules and System inspired me to try and bring the same joy to others around me and I learned to DM to have more D&D happening locally. I'm a homeschool educator and work for the CAF Cadet program which allows my schedule to be quite flexible. Specializing in DMing for newbies and helping people learn the game both in person and online. I usually utilize the Forgotten Realms allowing people to learn more of the lore and get familiar with base concepts of the game, but I do include some homebrew to keep things fresh and a few fun house rules to keep things more engaging. StartPlaying for me is a place to meet new players, enjoy more online events and take part in the larger community. I primarily run games in Central Alberta, Canada in person and do many campaigns through my discord server as well which limits when I can offer time slots for events on StartPlaying and lowers my "games played" number but I hope to see you all soon! I am an Orthodox Christian, which does come with some adaptations of 5E as I do not include anything Occultic. I am willing to be stricter on pantheons or other areas for custom requests. Creating your character
Please come prepared with a Level 5 Character with capabilities compatible to the Forgotten Realms. Feel free to use added 5E content with approval from me through the Discord. We are using 2014 rule sets. I do allow you to choose how you wish to build your stats, but I do prefer point buy as I find it more balanced among the party. You may also use any character building program you like, be it D&D Beyond, Roll 20, Pen and Paper or some other system. For these one shots I allow MAX Hit Die usage to set up your Maximum Hit Points. So the full 5D8 for example, being 40 plus modifiers. For repeat customers I have my own Database which allows Character Sheets as well which is a phenomenal resource full of added spells, subclasses, more races and classes etc. Please have your characters ready in advance. As an added bonus if you have your own Talespire you can also connect your HeroForge or Titancraft account to it, and install a digital mini of your character! Otherwise I can prep you with a generic one from the program. If you need ANY help with character creation, minis, concerns before the game etc I am always available to answer questions! Discord is the easiest way to get a hold of me.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a Mic and your Discord Account. You may choose to use your own Talespire, one of my "seats" (Talespire free), or to have the Discord Screenshare of my Talespire so that you may take part in the visual and audio of the game itself. I will be running my camera unless someone's bandwidth does not permit it to function properly, but i do not expect anyone else to do as well. Camera's are purely based upon everyone's comfort levels. Please have your characters ready and familiarize yourself with your character sheet, I am available for any questions before the game happens and happy to help as needed so you are ready to play at game time. What DM Niesa brings to the table
I strive to be a story teller, customizing everything for my individual players benefit. I work on voices, but the core of what I try to bring is the emotional involvement and an ongoing interest in what will come next. I bring along the use of Talespire to build 3D immersion, audio for sound effects and ambiance and interactive maps. This allows HeroForge and Titancraft to connect and bring in your own mini's if you would like and have your own Talespire account. I also have extra Seats in Talespire, which allow you to use the game and enjoy it off of my own purchase. For repeat customers I also allow access to my own special databank with resources for character creation. I am a pretty relaxed but consistent GM. I utilize the Rule of Cool within reason to free up the space for your wildest ideas, out of the box thinking and the ability to be unleashed! Using expanded content from sources beyond WoTC, like from DMs Guild and Kobold Press. I go with the flow of the party, happily blending to their styles so we all can enjoy our games to the fullest.
Homebrew rules
- Nat 20 on Initiative means choose your place in combat / OR Surprise Round. Nat 1 is last place and Miss first round. - Attack rolls double the target's AC Count as a Crit - Initiative ties allow the players to intermesh their turns - Initiative side by side means they can strategize - Attack rolls double the target's AC Count as a Crit - Use Crit Cards and Dice (plus max damage possibly) - Use an action for Health Potion is full healing, but roll for healing if you use a bonus action.

How DM Niesa creates a safe table
In Discord I have a page of the general safety information that we use and I also prefer to build Player Portfolios with private questions on there that you can send me to keep your limits and comfort level anonymous. In our session zero I will go over my house rules and basic limits, any which my players have issues which I am happy to accommodate and assist with. During the game Red, Green and Yellow are all usable, as is messaging me directly in Discord.
