About the adventure

So, you've decided to become an adventurer. Perhaps it is desperation that has caused you to take up the mantle. Maybe you're afflicted by a need for money -- fast -- with no other, semi-honorable way to procure it. Or perhaps you long for glory in the shadows of the greats, with mountains of coins and tales sung of your honor laden in your dreams. Either way, you've taken the plunge. In your hands is your newly-stamped Adventurer's Contract, and lodged in your gaze is the greasiest gnome in the land. With his hair caked flat and stiff against his head, and his finger and thumb stroking his foul chin thoughtfully, he considers you carefully. "Yuh, o-kay," he says after a long moment. "Single adventurer, fresh ink onna contract, and ya need yer first job. Got somethin' right here in town for ya. Rats." Rats? you wonder. "Yuh, rats," he says, as if reading your mind. "Get big from the Source 'round here. Need stickin' now and then. Go stick the rats in Mr. Huxtable's basement. Five silver, pretty fair deal if'n ya ask me. Stick 'em good, get paid, and then ya pick yer own jobs. Deal? Deal. Get goin'." /// GENERAL This is a singleplayer play-by-post campaign with the DM. It takes place in my custom DnD setting which has been in play since 2018. Posts will be shared via a dedicated Discord, with any combat and dice-rolling taking place asynchronously in roll20. A separate channel will be available for meta discussion of the story if desired. PACING/POST EXPECTATIONS The DM and player will respond back and forth, with the length of DM posts determined by the scenario. Minimum of one post per day (assuming the player has posted something to respond to). More as the DM is available. Combat can either by played out longform in the same format as regular play, with each turn narrated, or scheduled for a quick resolution with a long post describing the whole combat. SPECIAL NOTES This setting is the living, breathing setting that I run all of my games in. All player characters who have ever played in this setting have left an indelible ink on the world itself. By playing in this setting, you get to participate in an ever-evolving, responsive world, in which your creation will live on forever.
