About the adventure
This is a D&D 5th edition one shot, your characters will only need to be level 1 to solve this 4-5 hour murder mystery. This game is perfect for new and inexperience players to familiarize themselves with core 5th edition mechanics associated with exploration and roleplay more so than combat. Players will be tasked with managing their own investigation into the strange deaths plaguing village of Graymoor. That means interrogating the locals, searching for clues, and preparing yourself and your party to face the darkness that lurks there. Player characters can be custom made at level 1 or selected from a list of different locals of Graymoor which is provided by the DM, complete with local backstories.

About me
Among the multiverse is an endless tapestry of stories. An ancient cabal of forgotten gods celebrates their prophesied return to the material plane, reveling in the fallibility of mortal-kind; a world of scattered lands, all but claimed by the hungry seas, is threatened by a darkness born deep below the unfathomable depths; and a crumbling realm steeped in a web of secrets, powerful magics, and intense political turmoil stands at the brink of complete self annihilation. These are but glimpses into the endless tapestry of epic struggles and unforgettable adventures that I seek to weave alongside my players. Hello, Adventurers, my name is DM Bright, and it's my personal quest to ensure that all my players have enjoyable sessions which will be remembered long after the dice have fallen. With over a decade of TTRPG experience, and nearly eight years behind the DM's curtain, it's suffice to say that I have a passion for RPG games. Games series like KOTOR, TES, Fallout, Mass Effect and The Witcher have helped to stoke my obsession with fantasy and sci-fi universes and the seemingly endless amount of lore within them. I'm also a creative writer, avid worldbuilder, and a former theater scholarship student with a love of character acting. Personally, collaborative storytelling takes center stage in any session. I believe that sharing stories with one another is one of the most natural, basic instincts that we can tap into. As human beings, we all have stories within us just waiting to be told. So, if you're a novice D&D player, creative storytelling enthusiast, or just someone who wants to lose themselves in worlds of mysteries and magics, I humbly invite you to take a seat at my table.

Creating your character
Characters should be created before the session begins, or chosen from a selection of premade character sheets the DM can provide, if need be. Characters should be no higher than level 1, possess basic starting equipment, and can choose from any officially sanctioned D&D 5e content. Characters can be created easily on D&D beyond, using any available sanctioned 5e D&D content. Stats can be pre-rolled or standard array.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players should familiarize themselves with a basic understanding of 5th edition D&D and their character sheets. Players are also encouraged to submit character sheets prior to the session for review. I am available anytime after booking to help create your character or clarify any aspects of playing D&D. A Discord server link will be provided, and session combat is hosted on Owlbear Rodeo. A link to Owlbear Rodeo will be provided the day of the session.
What DM Bright brings to the table
I'm highly passionate about ttrpg games and dedicate a great deal of time to creative storytelling and worldbuilding projects. On top of my love for this medium of storytelling, I bring over half a decade of DMing experience and a solid grasp on D&D 5e mechanics to every session. Using discord voice chat and voice altering software I provide uniquely voiced NPCs, and detailed descriptions of the game world. Theater of the mind will be used for the majority of this game aside from periodic visual sources to enhance the narrative on Owlbear Rodeo. This session includes difficult combat, but leading up to that point is very roleplay and exploration focused. To that end, expect to use standard D&D 5e rules and mechanics to accomplish your goal of investigating the village and the strange circumstances surrounding unexplained deaths there. The rule of cool is, of course, always in play to enhance the narrative or ensure players have that memorable moment even if the rules must be bent a little bit.
