About the adventure
❄️The town of Rangers Point sits as the northmost settlement in the kingdom, initially a border outpost, has developed into a respectable settlement that is now home to 200 assorted farmers and artisans. 🎪The town is also famous for its extravagant winter festival and the solstice is just a week away. As the local heros you have your hands full helping with preperations for festival when a sizeable but mysterious travelling circus arrives in town. Excitetment for the festivities has never been higher, but behind the scenes strange occurences are happening in and around town. ⚔️As to keep the towns safety and ensure the festival occurs without disaster you will need to deal with the strange threat while making sure the villagers are none the wiser. ⭐This adventure, culminating in the Winter Solstice Festival, will explore fairytale fantasy and horror. The game will be very narrative, uncovering plots and discovering dark secrets, there will be a handful of engaging combats that highlight story moments. At this table you will be highly encouraged to roleplay and engage with/lead storytelling as a group.

About me
🧙♂️Heyo! my names Hugo, I'm a musician, artist, and GM of 5 or so years. Heres a bit about me: ⭐For a judge of character look towards the very kind reviews my friends/past players have left me! 🔮I started playing D&D on 3.5e with my dad in highschool, ever since then I have played basically every week. My dad running games for me and my friends soon turned into me running the games. Across my many years of running games I've played in a wide range of different systems including Mouse Guard, Mork Borg (and varients) and Blades in the Dark. 🪄Generally I'm a big nerd, I love TTRPG's, Magic the Gathering and many other assorted games. Games are my biggest hobby and I've tried making some of my own, which I'd love to try on here sometime! 🎷My musical instrument of choice is drums (despite the deceptive saxaphone), I play jazz, soul and everything awesome! I'm also big into musicals! 📸Profile Image by https://www.instagram.com/labyrinths.png/

Creating your character
🦉Please create your characters before session 1, we will have a pretty loose session 0 in which we can create characters as a group or you are welcome to do it individually. Characters will be lvl 5, created through D&D Beyond, once created introduce your character on the discord server through a short paragraph - can have as much or little detail as you want. 📜Details -Level 5 characters -Use any official D&D content that you have access to (I will share the content I have with you on D&D Beyond) -You may also begin with one Uncommon Magic item -If you want to use homebrew content send me a message, usually I use rather little homebrew -Use any Stat generation method provided by D&D Beyond, if you use rolled, only reroll if you get poopy dookie stats please (such as multiple stats below 10) -Backstories don't need to be complicated, this will be a short campaign without much time to explore backstory development.
Play whatever you want! You can min max if you want, I dont mind if you have a joke character! Genuienly whatever kind of character you would like to play!
What to expect
Preparing for the session

What Maybe Hugo brings to the table
🧙♂️I am a roleplay heavy GM, I use ambient music, rich narration, and I have a very competant knowledge of the rules although my focus is always on narrative gameplay. Naturally rule of cool beats all else 🤘. 🎺I encourage all players to partake in roleplay and storytelling so we can all make some awesome memorable stories
Homebrew rules
📜I use a few minor tweaks in game and use a spread of rules from across 5e and 0e D&D. Rules I use include: -bonus action health potions / full action full heal -private death saving throws -Crits deal max damage on top of regular role

Safety
How Maybe Hugo creates a safe table
🐴In a session 0, we will discuss openly (or later privately) about content warnings and boundaries towards what themes can be avoided or entirely absent from the game. This can be refered to lines and veils, veils describing soft boundaries that we will steer clear from, lines refering to hard boundaries - if the game is approaching a line then it will be directed elsewhere. ✨At any point during a session if anyone is feeling uncomfortable or as though the game is movie towards unpleasant terratory, this can be brought up publicly or privately with me and the game could be paused, stopped, redirected elsewhere etc (just lmk and there is absolutely 0 judgement, safety and enjoyment is all that matters).
