About the adventure
The weave shifts, it bends, it molds, it creates, the weave transcends realms and world, it connects, makes bridges between them, one such place is the famed Strixhaven university; a magical sanctum of learning, understanding, of broadening horizons of all, a place that welcomes all who have the thirst of such things no matter the race, creature, or world one comes from, a place one can grown into who they were meant to be and trip up along the way.. Another floundering crop of students are pouring into the university, another year, another storm of folks who have grand wishes, goals, as well a scattering and bubbling amount of different personalities, thoughts, beliefs. Of this new wave of fresh blood is you, you who have for one reason or another made the choice, the goal to attend the greatest school in existence, the greatest multidimensional university there is, and best of all, you have been accepted! Now your bags are packed, you say goodbye to the life you knew and prepare to enter a whole new one of magic and whimsy, of learning, of friends, rivals, and possibly even a bit of romance; it is a college after all.. However, outside the beautiful and twisting magics, the budding romances, and magical duels, another group moves, forces unseen act, pull strings, cause ripples that turn to tidal waves brimming with chaos, a series of events are unfolding, ones that none realize lead to pure chaos, let alone the ruin of Strixhaven itself, these dark magics are plotting, planning, working to make their wishes come true; will you be as blind as the rest, will you over look the signs of trouble, or will you do what is needed to save the University as well as your school life.. About me
After a decade as a player, I've decided to try my hand at the metaphorical wheel, to be a DM for both new and seasoned adventures, offering to help pilot the story of wandering adventurers in a PbP format; I tend to lean towards Roleplay heavy games, weaving together different official content and modules along with possible homebrew and your character’s backstory, I strive to run games that are character-first and allow your choices to impact the narrative. I welcome players, new to play-by-post, D&D, or both. I'm patient and enjoy teaching. My table is safe, inclusive and welcoming of LGBTQA, PoC, and neurodivergent players; let’s go on adventure.. I offer to run most modules, if you don't see it on my list, reach out and there's a good chance I do or will; and am happy to run or make the game for any potential player(s). Creating your character
Character creation starts once you've chosen to join, you don't need any ideas or character before hand fully setup before hand, will go over the main bits and either craft your character or weave them into the story of the module with of course some fun twist and turns that will hopefully not just bring your character to life but allow for story-bits to be brought up or dealt with later on as we play. Starting level will be 1st or 3rd, unless we decide otherwise during on-boarding. Stats can be rolled in server or you can use point buy or the modified standard array: 17 16 15 13 11 9. We'll mainly be using Discord as this game is text base - Play-by-Post. Either D&D Beyond or Roll20 can be used character sheets or even just making a sheet on the server itself is fine, this is something we can go over; I do plan to use one site or the other for any combat but for the most part the game is Theater of the Mind. Finally will be using the 2024 ruleset with legacy materials allowed but the option to use solely 2014 rules is also there, another thing that will be discussed once you're in the game server. The main focus of the game is the story we create together, both with what's within the module and what we weave in; we will work together to tie your character's background into the world and story.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To prepare, you simply need a Discord account and the desire to write up a fun story together. Having a Roll20 or D&D Beyond account would also be of use for any combat and tracking of sheets; but not mandatory. - Again will go over more in server.
What Fallen brings to the table
I provide a organized and safe Discord server where you can be yourself and be around others who simply are looking for the same thing. Will provide links to D&D Beyond/Roll20 campaigns where sheets can be made while sharing what content I can within those two sites. This, like all my games, is PbP (Play-by-post), I'm active throughout the week except on the Weekends where I take time for myself and recharge/plan. In regards to PbP, you can expect my time and patience along side my own creative spark when it comes to the Story and RP between us.
Homebrew rules
Homebrew: • Start game with a DM Inspiration, and start each new in-game day with an Inspiration. • Can cast more than one leveled spell a turn (Eg: Action: Guiding Blot - Bonus Action: Healing Word) • Drinking a potion is a Bonus Action, but administering a potion to someone else takes an action • Flanking gives Advantage or +2 (Decide Before Game) Extra Optional Homebrew Rule: • Critical/Nat 20: Do max damage + normal roll. eg: Longsword is a d8, say mod is a +2; crit damage is 10 + rolled damage • [Group Games] Death saving throws are DM’s eyes only, roll in #room with Avrae or privately on D&D Beyond. Adds some tension in those rare moments
