About the adventure

Welcome to “Tasha’s Tedious Tasks”! A 2014 edition one-shot where you and your party have one simple goal: pay back the witch Tasha by running a “quick” errand. But with Tasha, nothing is ever straightforward. Expect the unexpected with creatures, magical mischief, and life-threatening twists around every corner! This less serious, beginner-focused adventure is perfect for those new to D&D and TTRPGs, with a welcoming, LGBT-friendly environment. Players will be making their way through the adventure with level 2 characters! Have a character concept but no idea how to make it realised? This adventure comes with pre-generated characters for each class. Is that not enough? Then I am happy to make a custom pre-gen character sheet for anyone who joins and requests one! So, whether you’re brand new or just looking for a less stressful game, Tasha’s Tedious Tasks is the perfect chance to dive into adventure with a group ready to roleplay, explore, and face whatever “tedious tasks” Tasha has in store!

About me

If you’re reading this, we already have something in common: we both love storytelling! For me, storytelling is at the heart of everything I do. I’m passionate about weaving compelling narratives and creating immersive roleplay experiences, and I love doing it with players of all backgrounds. I have a lot of experience running games for women, LGBTQIA+, and beginner players, and I strive to create a space where everyone feels welcome and engaged. I’m a flexible GM who focuses on making the game fun for everyone at the table. Rules are important, sure, but if bending or even breaking them makes the story better or the session more enjoyable, I’m all for it! Our shared enjoyment is always my top priority. One of my favorite compliments from a player says it all: "I don't know how you do it, but I care more about my fake D&D mom's opinion of me than my real mom, and I hate you for that."

Character creation

Creating your character

Dam will provide pre-made character sheets for you to choose from after you sign up or at the start of the game.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need Roll20 accounts, along with Discord accounts. A mic is necessary. While I will be using a webcam, players are free to not use one if they wish. I will provide a document that summarises the rules in as simple a way as possible that players are asked to read, but questions are still encouraged! Players will be given pre-gen level 2 character sheets on the day and will be quickly made familiar with what the characters can do.

What Dam Erin brings to the table

I try to immerse my players into the game as much as possible. Ambient music and sounds, along with art for locations and NPC to help with visualization are just some of the tools I use. While my character voices aren't top standard, I give it my best! Along with that I always lean on the side of players' fun over following rules. If something isn't typically possible in the game, I do what I can to accommodate it as much as possible, we are all here to have fun after all! Combat is always meant to be more than announcing numbers and waiting for things to reach zero. I encourage players to describe their actions, and when they can't, I do it for them! You'll always feel cool in every fight, even when you're missing.

Safety

How Dam Erin creates a safe table

Before the first session each player will be given a link to a document where they can anonymously send their lines and veils (topics they are not comfortable with), we will go over these before the start of the session. Players should feel free to text me an X, text it into a group chat or say it verbally if at any point they would like to pivot from the topics in a scene.
