About the adventure

CONNECTED TO: SHADOWLAND BBS (CHICAGO LOCAL NODE DOWN) ACCESS LEVEL: RESTRICTED DATE/TIME: 10-MAY-2076 // 03:14:08 EST POST: [URGENT] THE SUIT IN THE SWARM POSTED BY: [REDACTED] Listen up Chummer and listen well: An Aztechnology executive VTOL has slammed into the ruins of Lincoln Park—deep in the heart of territory claimed by the Roach Hives. The last transmission from the craft’s rigger is a high-definition nightmare: the sound of tearing metal, the chittering of a thousand legs, and a final image of Juan Gonzales-Schimmerman being dragged, alive and screaming, into the dark by massive, oily-chitinous horrors. Aztechnology can’t send an army without sparking a corporate war or a political scandal. They need "independent contractors." They need shadows. No Backup: Once you’re over the Wall, you are on your own. There is no DocWagon coming for you. The Economy: Nuyen is useless inside. You’ll be trading clips, soy-kaf, and favors to navigate the warring street gangs and "Rat Shack" communities. The Clock is Ticking: The Roach Spirits don't keep captives for long. They are looking for hosts. If you don't reach Juan in time, you won't be bringing back a man—you'll be bringing back a cocoon. Logistics: Resource management is key. Ammo, reagents, and battery packs are gold. Deckers not needed, Matrix is down in the Containment Zone. Threat Profile: Insect spirits are lethal. You’ll need to play smart, use the environment, and coordinate your abilities to survive the swarm. Chicago is a scar on the face of the UCAS. Since the 2055 "Bug City" incident, the Chicago Containment Zone (CZ) has been a lawless hellscape walled off by the military and crawling with insectoid nightmares. Most people spend their lives trying to stay out. You’re being paid a king’s ransom to go in. The Wall is closing behind you, Chummer. The shadows in Chicago have legs. Do you have what it takes to bring the suit home? [03:15:22] > Lincoln Park? That’s Roach Central. You're basically asking for volunteers for a meat grinder. — Haze [03:16:45] > Azzie money smells like blood, but in the CZ, blood is the only currency that hasn't devalued. — 0-Dyne [03:18:10] > Confirmed: Matrix coverage ends 100 meters before the Wall. If you rely on the grid, you’re already dead. — Glitch_Bitch

About me

"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." I love fun. And roleplaying games. And cheese. And horror! I'm a professional "Learn To Play" DM, artist & writer, that enjoys teaching beginners how to play these games. I love writing and collaborative storytelling in all its forms. I use horror as a tool for creating fun and escaping reality for a few hours. I'm a professional storyteller in all its forms: writing books, ttrpg adventures, short stories, novels, and TV shows. Roll20 and Discord are my favorite replacements for in-person gaming. I live on a small island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, so that makes in person gaming difficult these days. So, I invested a ton of time, energy, art, writing, and creative juice to improve my Virtual DM game. I am one of the best Professional DMs you will ever encounter and have over 40 years' experience (I'm older than dirt lol). Most of my players are LGBQT and women, so we respect consent and are kind to all who play. No racism, transphobia, misogyny, or homophobia allowed. I want this to be a fun safe place for everyone. My favorite game systems are Call of Cthulhu 7th ed, D&D 5e (2014), Pathfinder 2nd ed, Cyberpunk Red, and Shadowrun 5th ed. I live in the Azores, Portugal on Sao Miguel Island. It's the Hawaii of Europe and an awesome place to live. I reside here with my family, chickens, dogs and cats.
