About the adventure
This is a horror fantasy game where monsters are something to be feared and dungeons are full of treasure because no one has survived plundering their depths. I like the term "Action Horror" to describe my games. It deals with horror themes but the action allows for players to fight back and respond with consequence both good and bad. My games are not scary but I label them horror due to the lethality of combat and the vulnerability of everyone involved. Dagger stabs are lifelong scars and maces break bones that never heal quite the same. This game like all my others follows a code of brutality that flows both ways. Players risk life and limb but so do those that stand against them. Use the world to your advantage, choose your battles wisely, run if you must, every advantage that you can use only stands to help you survive and maybe in time.... thrive. This game will take place in a dark woodland where foul beastmen have hunted the PCs under a horrid Blood Moon and now they must somehow escape this situation before their Blood adds to this long night. Players will have to manage their resources, find civilization, fight, hide, run, and anything else to stand against the beastial herd till this moon finally shines white again

About me
My name is John Lemmel and I go by Trey. I live in Denver, CO with my family that consists of my wonderful partner Sami and my Frenchie by the name of Odie. I have been the forever GM ever since I started playing TTRPGS 15 years ago. I have played many systems and settings with Dark Fantasy OSR being a personal favorite of mine. I am very passionate about this hobby as I find it very fulfilling and natural. I find it not only easy to run the games but also easy to do the less talked about aspects of the hobby such as recruitment, scheduling, and the pre game socialization to warm everyone up for actual play. When I'm not running games I enjoy reading history, horror, and fantasy as well as playing video games.

Creating your character
I will run the players through character creation at the start of session 1 as a group.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I will have a discord ready to use for voice communication as well as a place to post needed resources such as pdfs and dice bots. Players will need to make a discord account if they do not already have one. Other than that I can handle everything else as owlbear will not require them to make an account.
What Trey brings to the table
I will provide my characters I dynamic game that is open ended and responds to their choices. I use character tokens, ambient music, maps, numerous voices, and many behind the scenes systems to make the world alive and reactive.
Homebrew rules
I will be using a menagerie of other resources that provide new spells and classes at the players disposal (these will mostly be human and classic race as class options) as well as an injury roll system to give combat some extra "OOMPH!" This injury system goes both ways however so the players can also give the enemies a mean wallop. Other than that I will be using team based initiative and tweaking the Shadowdark lighting rules to make torches a little more finnicky so players always have the dread of darkness upon them.

How Trey creates a safe table
Everyone at my table has a right top feel comfortable. While my games may be horrifying for the characters; the players should be having a good time. I always check in after games to make sure everyone has a chance to take in the session and discuss anything that wasn't to their liking. Players can also call for a pause in which the game halts and they can say or privately message what they are uncomfortable with. Once this has been stated I will work with that player to ensure they continue to have a enjoyable experience where their needs are met at the table.
