Character creation

Creating your character

Pre-generated Characters are available for anyone who wants to jump right into the action. If you'd prefer a more personalised hero, I offer optional character creation assistance. This can include helping you choose a class, walking through the rules, or building a custom character tailored to your playstyle.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, here's what you should prepare before our adventure. Character preparation - To get the most out of the experience. I recommend getting to know your chosen character. Write down 2 to 3 abilities that you think would work for the adventure, pick a voice to put on, and have fun. Materials Dice (Optional): While Roll20 has a built-in dice roller, some players may want to have physical dice on hand for personal use. Please don't abuse the trust system. Notebook and Pen: Useful for taking notes on important plot points of any adventure. Technology Roll20 Account: Make sure you have a free Roll20 account set up to access the game. Discord Account: Create or Log into your Discord account for voice chat during the sessions. Headset/Microphone Audio Equipment: A good quality headset or microphone is recommended to ensure clear communication and enhance the overall gaming experience. Snack and Drinks (Optional) Refreshments: Have some snacks or a drink bottle near by to keep your energy up during the session.

What Daniel T brings to the table

As a Dungeon Master, my goal is to create an engaging and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Here is what you can expect from me during our sessions: Platform: Roll20 The game will be hosted on Roll20, where I have prepared dynamic maps and integrated tokens to represent monsters and characters, ensuring a visually immersive experience. Voice Chat: Discord. We will use Discord for voice communication, allowing for real-time interaction and collaboration throughout the adventure. Creative Resources: Maps & Tokens. I have designed maps and carefully selected tokens to bring the world to life, enhancing the storytelling experience. Focus on Fun: Engagement and Enjoyment. My primary goal is to ensure that everyone has a fun and memorable experience. I'm here to facilitate your adventure, support your character development, and encourage collaboration among players. Flexibility and Adaptation: Responsive Game-play. I am committed to adapting the game base on player feedback and preferences. Your enjoyment and comfort are my top priorities, and I'm always open to suggestions to enhance the sessions.

Homebrew rules

Here are the home-brew rules I implore: **Custom Criticals** A critical hit deals maximum damage + roll of weapon damage (no modifiers) + the effects based on a roll table. A critical miss, misses the opponent + the effects based on a roll table. **Drinking Potions** Drinking a potion can be done as an action or bonus action. Using ans an action allows for the full potential heal, whereas a bonus action with require the dice roll. Feeding a potion to a downed player costs a full action **Exhaustion Level** Although, I don't think exhaustion will be a problem in a One-Shot generally I use the 2024 rules.

Safety

How Daniel T creates a safe table

Safety Tools for our Adventures: To ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all players, we will implement the following safety tools during the game: 1. Session Intro To ensure that everyone is comfortable and is able to express any concerns. We will go through the expectations of the game. We will cover topics that are to be avoid and behaviours that will not be tolerated. This is to ensure that everyone feels safe, heard and is able to enjoy themselves. 2. Open Door Policy We maintain an Open Door Policy to prioritise the well-being of all players. If at any point you feel the need to leave the game, whether for a break or due to discomfort. You are encouraged to do so. Your mental and emotional safety is paramount. Players can step away quietly, or if comfortable, communicate their need for a break. We will ensure that your absence is respected, and you can rejoin when you're ready. 3. Breaks During the Adventure Regular breaks will be scheduled to give everyone a chance to stretch, refresh and recharge. If you need an unscheduled break at any time, feel free to step away. We will try to maintain a break each 1.5 hours. 4. Debriefing after the Adventure At the end of the adventure, we will have a debriefing. This is a chance for everyone to share their experience and thoughts on the game. Discuss what you enjoy and address any concerns that may have arisen. 5. Aftercare To ensure everyone can decompress, we recommend that you take time after the session to reflect. Feel free to reach out to discuss. Casual Conversations: Talk about lighter topics to shift focus away from the adventure/ Self-Care Practices: Encouragement to engage in activities that help you relax and feel grounding after the session.
