About the adventure

When gnolls raid a frontier town, they don’t just kill — they take. Citizens vanish. Wagons of meat and bodies are hauled toward the abandoned mine in the hills. The Crownsguard is offering a bounty for every gnoll slain and every survivor returned. But something about this raid is different. In this Level 3 mystery-action one-shot, you’ll defend a town under siege, track the raiders into dangerous territory, and uncover the dark purpose behind their brutal devotion. Expect tactical combat, investigation, moral choices, and a cinematic final confrontation beneath the earth.

About me

Hey, I'm Meadöe! I'm a lifelong D&D player and an all-around gamer at heart. I'm also a mom of two little boys who are currently adventuring through their very first D&D campaign—helmed, of course, by yours truly. When I'm not rolling dice, I'm working as an interior designer, managing a household with two dogs and a cat, and trying to remember where I set my coffee down. I'm an indoors person through and through; if you see me outside, something has either gone terribly wrong, or I'm getting food. I love cooking, eating, and creative writing. One of my favorite things in the world is talking to other women about gaming and helping more girls find their way into the hobbies I love. Growing a welcoming, supportive community of gamer girls is a passion of mine, and I'm always excited to help someone get started who might not have had the chance otherwise.

Character creation

Creating your character

For stats, roll using 5d6 and drop the lowest two dice (a slightly heroic twist on the classic 4d6 drop lowest). Arrange as desired. Any official 2014 race and class options are welcome, and I don't ban spells! Any spell listed on [https://dnd5e.wikidot.com/spells] is fair game. If you’re newer to D&D and would like guidance with character creation — or a walkthrough of the basic mechanics — I highly recommend booking one of my “Learn to Play D&D (5e – 2014)” individualized sessions before the one-shot. It’s a relaxed, supportive environment where we build your character together and make sure you feel confident heading into the adventure. Either way, I’m looking forward to this adventure!

What to expect

The Player's Handbook (2014) in pdf or physical form [pdf free via Internet Archive] 4. A blank character sheet [https://media.wizards.com/2016/dnd/downloads/5E_CharacterSheet_Fillable.pdf] 5. What Meadoe Richards brings to the table

I will be giving out a link for a soundscape [background music and sound effects] as well as delivering my standard narrative flair in all pillars of play.

Homebrew rules

I do use quite a few of the most common homebrew rules: - rule of cool - self-administer potions on a bonus action - modified crit rolls - critical successes and failures on ability checks I know there's more, but we will address them if they come up in game, and I will always make sure all players at the table are on board for whatever modification is made.

Safety

How Meadoe Richards creates a safe table

Before our session, I will send out my Consent Check List and my Pillar Engagement Poll so that you know what to expect - what themes may come up at anyone's table, as well as what the "Pillars of Play" are and where you may fall on the Player Style Spectrum
