About the adventure

This campaign will cover two published modules: Lost Mines of Phandelver and Storm King's Thunder. Lost Mines will cover levels 1-5 and Storm King's will cover levels 5-11. Lost Mines is a starter adventure aimed heavily at players new to D&D, and has everything one could expect in a classic fantasy campaign. Storm King's Thunder tells a tale of deceit and danger as giants pillage the storm coast, wreaking havoc on the so-called "small folk." Lost Mines of Phandelver: The town of Phandalin, a short trip from the city of Neverwinter, is a frontier settlement built on the back of the Sword Coast, a harsh region ripe with danger. It is said that long ago an ancient mine was lost to time when orcs ravaged the region and destroyed the town of Phandalin. For years folk came to Phandalin in search of fame and fortune, but none found the mine, and eventually, Phandalin was rebuilt. A friend of yours named Gundren Rockseeker has recently made contact with you and asked you to escort a wagon of supplies out of Neverwinter to Phandalin. When you asked him what the supplies were for, his only response was "something big." Storm King's Thunder: Ages ago, giants and dragons waged war across the Savage Frontier. These battles are long forgotten by the human civilizations of today, but ancient relics remain. And now, the land shudders once more with the thunder of giant footsteps. Hill giants raid farms for food and livestock, as stone giants lay waste to settlements in their path. Frost giants plunder coastal towns, as fire giants gather slaves. Cloud giant castles drift across the sky, casting ominous shadows on the cities of the North. In the past, the Storm giants of the ocean maintained a checks and balances on all the other race of giants, but as of late they have been suspiciously silent. It is up to a small group of adventurers to determine the exact nature of the giants and their treachery and put a stop to it, before they lay waste to the entire sword coast. This is a weekly game that will be aimed primarily at beginners but open to all players.

About me

My name is Aaron, I am pansexual, and I am a forever DM (by choice!). I really enjoy running player driven games with a good story! I really enjoy running combat, but I don't consider my encounters to be particularly difficult. I really like the storytelling aspect of DND, so this is where my focus tends to go!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should prepare by joining the roll20 game and discord (see links in prep materials.)

What Aaron brings to the table

I will provide premium roll20 content, music, and tokens. I tend to run relaxed games that are less combat intensive and more focused on roleplay and story.

How Aaron creates a safe table

Safety tools will be discussed at session zero. I highly encourage players to mention topics they do not want to see in game, particularly graphic ones. While it is impossible to discuss every trigger up front, I also encourage players to speak up if they feel uncomfortable in game, without fear of ridicule or the like. Everyone at my table will respect each other's boundaries.
