About the adventure
Tired of all those medieval settings? Prefer epic poetry to charisma checks any day? Then have I got a game system for you: AGON. In AGON a crew of mythical heroes find themselves on a ship, trying to get home from war in the times of ancient Greece. Finding their way through the stormy sea, they arrive at a series of islands, each with a situation unfolding around the Gods, their rulers, or terrifying monsters. Here, the heroes can disembark, do their best to set things right by making hard choices and advancing their legend. This system is very forgiving of player absence, as any round can be played by whoever is there that session. It is not so much combat as it is a series of challenges that must be answered in the most heroic way possible. Write your name upon the stars!

About me
Telling stories since I was a kid with a tape recorder in my mom's closet (good acoustics). I like to learn systems and help people actually have fun with the game they are playing! And maps. I LOVE MAPS. If you want someone who's as invested in telling a good story as getting rules right and who leans to humor instead of horror, I'm your middle-aged nerd.

Creating your character
We'll create characters in session 0, following the suggested methods in the AGON book. I have a PDF that can be shared if players would like to reference it, but I'll pull out the sections on the islands so that no one peeks. Remember: these characters are ALREADY heroes. Their legends are ascendant. This is not the game for the "who me?" character.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please be ready to play on Roll20 with a webcam and a mic if possible. If the group agrees, we may also set up a Discord channel or server. Other than that, we will take care of everything in session 0.
What Nancy brings to the table
I've run this game before using Roll20 and it worked beautifully. I'd prefer to set it there as character sheets and such are already integrated into the site. I also optionally suggest forming a group discord. With this game, my style is to reward good storytelling. This system is not as interested in min-maxing or getting the right "hit" - better to have a grand gesture or epic speech many times. The GM does determine the type of roll for the actions declared, and once something has been attempted we move on. But don't worry, there will be more chances for glory!

How Nancy creates a safe table
We will go over safety in session 0, including creating a lines and veils document that I will share with the group. I can be contacted at any time on discord or this platform, and want this to be a safe and fun environment for everyone involved.
