About me
Hello, adventurers! My name is Cody and I love telling a good story with good friends. Like many others, I discovered my love of TTRPGs during the pandemic and playing and GMing games like DnD quickly became a passion. Players at my table can expect a character-driven, roleplay-heavy, narrative-focused campaigns set in my own homebrew world. If you are looking to develop an unhealthy attachment to imaginary characters in an imaginary world, I have a good feeling you'll be a perfect fit!

What Cody brings to the table
- We will use DnDBeyond for character creation, Foundry VTT to play the game, and Discord for voice/video. - I am well-versed in the rules of DnD 5e, but I am never beholden to them. I will always make rulings that make the most sense for the moment with the goal of making the game as fun as possible. - Of the core pillars of TTRPGs, role play will be most heavily represented at my table. You can expect plenty of silly voices and characters who you will absolutely love or loathe. I will always give it my all and encourage players to do the same, but there is never an obligation to role play like you are on Critical Role. - As much as I love role play, combat is never far away! You can expect story-driven combat which basically means less fights against nameless goblins, but plenty of impactful battles that progress the story we are working together to tell. Combat can be wacky and fun, tense and thrilling, or anything in between! - I always leave time at the end of a session for a debrief/ discussion if wanted. Open discussion are how we ensure that this is the game we all want it to be and maximize our fun. My Discord DMs are also always open for those who want to discuss character and world building ideas between sessions. - This campaign may have its moments of darkness, but its intended to be a wacky romp for players looking to have a good time while fighting crime. I'll do my best to make you laugh!

How Cody creates a safe table
- Every campaign will start with a free 'Session 0' to talk about rules, expectations, as well as safety tools. This is the space for players to inform me of their lines and veils to limit uncomfortable situations during the campaign. - During the game, we will utilize X, N, and O's. You can either show these on camera or privately message me on Discord during the game. These let me know if we need to put a full stop to a certain scenario or change the trajectory of the scene a bit. - During our end of session debrief, I will invite everyone to share their Stars and Wishes. This is just another method to ensure that everyone gets to play the game they want to play.
