About the adventure

Nature. Defining it is never easy, and taming it has never lasted. Yet on the isle of Illdorn, civilisation and wilderness once achieved what few thought possible: balance. Cities lived in harmony with ancient groves, druidic enclaves worked alongside governing officials, and the spirits of the land walked among mortals without fear. But that balance has shattered. In recent months, both the Buralon and the Government have borne witness to nature’s rising fury. Trees twist into new shapes. Weather ignores the seasons. Wildlife reacts with unprecedented range and evolves in ways that seem impossible. And beneath it all, Irilis spreads: a supernatural disease that infects the mind while leaving the body intact, driving its victims to turn against all they once loved. Those infected are still recognisably themselves, yet always changed. As the curse of Irilis consumes Illdorn, the outside world has responded with fear. The great nations of Halvier, Visian, and Cirtan have declared a complete quarantine: no one in, no one out. Trade has ceased. Ships are turned away. Aid has stopped. Now, those trapped on Illdorn must survive the collapse of order. As governments fall and nature takes hold, civilisation fractures into warring tribes, ideologies, and beliefs. Players must navigate a world where mortalkind is isolated, desperate, and at odds with the very world they once called home.

About me

Hey there, adventurer! Thanks for taking a moment to explore my campaigns, and welcome to Wexveres, a rich, custom-built world brimming with magic, mystery, and stories waiting to unfold. I've been shaping this world for over four years, and I’m excited to begin the next chapter, maybe with you. Why Play in Wexveres? High Fantasy, Personalised. Every campaign begins with a dedicated Session 0 designed to tailor the story to your character and goals. Step into a living world with dynamic play options like Politician Segments, Companion Mechanics, Custom Abilities, and more (ideas always welcome). Access an evolving LegendKeeper full of deep lore, faction politics, divine conflict, and hidden histories. Play as a Sentient Beast, a Lost Soul, or a variant of classic races reimagined for a world shaped by planar magic. I’m a collaborative DM who values player agency, narrative choices, and long-form storytelling. Shared World, Shared Timeframe. Join a Discord server filled with other players running campaigns in the same living world, across the same Fifth Age. I’m a committed and story-driven DM looking for players who want to build something meaningful, whether it’s a campaign that runs for weeks or years. But don’t worry, this is still D&D! There’s always room for wild antics, unique choices, chaotic creativity, and the occasional talking crab (His name is Baxter). Shoot me a message if you want to dive into Wexveres. I’d love to tell a story with you. Welcome to the Fifth Age.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation can be long, daunting, and overwhelming, especially for new players. But don’t worry, I’ll guide you through every step. Alongside your character sheet, you’ll also get access to a custom Google Sheets builder filled with prompts and tools to help you create a detailed, fleshed-out character that fits naturally into the world. Each player receives two Session 0s: A Welcome Session, where I introduce the world, its lore, and everything you need to know before we start. A Character Session, where we go through your sheet mechanically and narratively, ensuring everything aligns with your playstyle and story goals. Throughout the entire process, I’ll be in constant communication with you and our admin team is always available to help as well. You may use any official 5e material, and we can discuss a wide range of homebrew options. I can create custom items, abilities, or tweaks to your class to help your concept shine. We also have unique custom races available exclusively in Wexveres. So yes, character creation is deep and detailed but together, we’ll make it fun, collaborative, and tailored exactly to the character you want to bring into the story.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

So you’re considering joining Wexveres? Amazing! I can’t wait to meet you and bring you into the world! Before we begin, there are a few things you’ll need to ensure you get the best possible experience: Discord — You’ll join the Echoverse D&D server, where you’ll receive your own private channel, admin support, and 24/7 access to campaign information. You’ll also become part of a growing, friendly community of players from across all Echoverse campaigns. Chronica — This is our campaign manager for Illdorn. You’ll need an account, and I promise it’s absolutely worth it for keeping track of story, lore, and progression. Roll20 — Our primary online tabletop. While we use plenty of theatre of the mind, all maps and encounters will be run through Roll20. Character Sheets — I’ll need access to your character sheet. Please use any platform you’re comfortable with and be ready to share it. Those are all the core platforms you’ll need to be set up with. If you have any questions or need help with anything, just send me a message. I’m always happy to assist!

What TheTwistedEcho brings to the table

Wexveres is a dark, richly detailed fantasy world built over years of continuous development. Its continents, cultures, factions, and histories interconnect to create a setting that feels alive, reactive, and emotionally grounded. My campaigns prioritise depth, character-driven storytelling and meaningful choices that genuinely shape the world around you. Nature Reclaims All takes place on the quarantined isle of Illdorn, a land where civilisation has collapsed and nature has turned violent, unpredictable, and sentient. Players will travel with eight fully realised companions, each with their own arcs, loyalties, and personal conflicts. You will engage with rival tribes, fractured druidic orders, desperate governments and demonic enclaves as you uncover the truth behind the Irilis curse. Every decision has weight. Every alliance matters. When you join one of my campaigns, you are not just joining a game. You are joining the Echoverse community. Our Discord serves as the central hub, offering private player channels, admin support, direct communication with me and access to every other player across the Echoverse. It is a welcoming, active space where people share ideas, discuss lore/campaign events and build lasting friendships. You will also receive access to my LegendKeeper lore library, a complete and ever-expanding compendium covering Wexveres and Illdorn in full. This includes world history, maps, deities, factions, custom races, mechanics, cultures and more. Everything you need to understand and explore the world is available to you at any time. The campaign is managed through Chronica, a powerful tool that tracks your progress. Here you will find detailed session notes, in-game shops, a full NPC database with approval tracking, faction standings, quest logs, character information and ongoing world-state changes. It's an amazing tool. I also provide custom art and original music created by professional artists and composers specifically for Wexveres. I have found really talented freelancers who work hard to deliver high quality content. Beyond the main storyline, I run regular one-shots and personalised sessions for players who want more time with their characters. Every player receives a solo introductory session designed to help them settle into the world, shape their backstory and understand their place within the campaign. I create unique character lore sheets filled with world-integrated prompts to help you build deep, compelling characters. I work closely with you to ensure your character fits seamlessly into the story you want to tell, and this campaign is everything you want it to be. My games are premium because I deliver a premium experience. I invest heavily in worldbuilding, storytelling, production quality and player support. If you want a campaign that is immersive, emotionally powerful and meticulously crafted, Wexveres will give you an experience you will not forget.

Homebrew rules

I have a live rulesheet which is always being updated but here is what I run so far: We follow most 5.5e rules, but there are a few differences. If you have any questions about rulings, please add them to this list and tag me in a comment! We Round Down. Feats - You can start with whatever feat you wish to start with as an origin feat. Stats - Stats can go as low as 6 and as high as 16 in initial character creation. You can train during downtime to increase your stats incrementally, working on a DM-based experience table. There is no hard cap on stats, including ASIs. For example, if you spend a day working out, that will help progress your strength. Lower levels are easier to gain, and higher levels take more downtime. During these training days, you cannot spend downtime doing other time-based things. Crunchy Crits - Roll a Nat20 and whatever your damage rolls are, you double. Potions - Potions are a bonus action to drink (woop) Missed Abilities - If you forget something, and we move initiative forward, you cannot go back and claim any of the benefits or cons - this applies to DM and Player. If you are away from the table and combat is continuing, you cannot retroactively do a reaction when you come back. Fall Damage - 1d10 for 10 feet with no max. For any height over 30 feet, without any items/abilities to soften your fall, +20 damage per 10 feet. Movement - Your base movement is your movement, but if you wish to try and push yourself a little further (5 feet), you can make an Athletics check to do so. Resurrection - There is no form of resurrection for PC’s/NPCs unless pre-approved for story reasons - Death is permanent.

How TheTwistedEcho creates a safe table

Wexveres is a dark-fantasy world where characters face genuinely horrific situations. As a DM, I use mature, uncomfortable, and occasionally distressing themes to create richer storytelling and deeper character moments. I will never include these topics to shock or upset, only to serve narrative purpose. All players will take part in a Session 0 where we discuss boundaries, comfort levels, and any subjects you do not want included. You will always have the opportunity to voice concerns, set limits, or request adjustments before the campaign begins. During sessions, you will receive clear content warnings before any sensitive material appears. If you know something will be uncomfortable, you’ll have a chance to mute the call or step away. I will inform the group discreetly, and notify you when the scene has passed. If the content takes up a significant part of the session, we will work together on an alternative, such as a personalised side-scene or one-shot, so you never feel left out. If something unexpectedly disturbs you during play, you can message me privately at any time. I will immediately apply the same accommodation and ensure you remain supported, without derailing the story for others. I will never include sexual assault or explicit sexual content in any of my games. Romance is optional, sexual scenes are always fade-to-black, and entirely player-driven in their inclusion. This campaign is harsh, survival-focused, and intentionally unsettling. It is not suited for players who prefer lighter themes. Please consider this carefully, there will be gentler Wexveres campaigns available if you’d prefer them.
