About the adventure

The recluse of a poet Jacob Reine disappeared. A strange vanishing one year after the suspicious disappearance of his wife. The writer had sequestered himself in the Stonehorn lighthouse and then one day he was there no more. Gossip and rumors are plentiful in the small community around him that he ignored. The truth, however, that is for you to decide. Whatever happened, you must find out. This will be a three session story as you will take on the role of someone invested in finding out what happened, be it a local with personal reasons, a do-gooder or law enforcement. We will use the classic 1920's CoC setup for this adventure. Beginners and veterans alike are welcome to join.

About me

Hello friend. My name is Edgar I'm a storyteller, writer and artist with just about ten years of GM experience. It all began when I was a wee lad and got invited to game of, would you believe it, Dungeons and Dragons. I fell in love with tabletop roleplay right then and there, seeing it as collaborative art and storytelling. At my table we are inclusive, welcoming and attentive. I've run many systems in my time and played around with a bunch of themes. If I had to pick favorites, I'd go with mystery and horror, so even if we're doing wacky hijinks in Faerûn, I am liable to throw in a puzzle or a scare. While the rules of the system are an important framework, I believe that the 'rule of cool' is a universally excellent rule. As a GM my loyalty is to the story that we are all creating together, with all the curveballs and out-of-the-box chicanery players are oft to do.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created before the session using the Roll20 Charactermancer which walks you through the process step by step. Stats will be rolled. CoC 7th ed. quickstart rules are good to have for reference but not necessary. I will guide the beginner players through the process.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Discord and Roll20 accounts are necessary. We will use Discord to communicate and Roll20 as our VTT.

What Edgar brings to the table

I will use voice and music to aid the atmosphere as well as some visual aid when necessary, other than that the game will be Theater of the Mind. Combat may be streamlined and abridged for purposes of atmosphere and time.

Homebrew rules

- Abridged combat rules where convenient. - Luck rolls can be pushed.
