About the adventure
A beginner and LGBTQ+ friendly custom game using Pathfinder 2e. Players will take on the role of beta testers for Valhalla Online, advertised as a fully immersive fantasy life sim, only to inevitably get stuck inside. It's a chance to get just a little bit meta - your character sheets are the actual builds of your characters in game, and they'll be able to see them. And like the MMO being advertised, this game will adapt to what you, the players, want. Cozy life sim, hardcore raid simulator, or a mix of the two. Because sometimes, what you want is to just be as anime as hell.

About me
I starting playing tabletop games back in college, and my very first session was as dungeon master - after the person who'd offered to run our first game flaked on us, I rolled up my sleeves and did it myself, and I've been both playing and running consistently for the 15 years ever since. I've run in person and online, home games, at clubs, and in west march servers, in a variety of systems, though I prefer systems with a robust mechanical foundation. I like to have and know the tools and rules at our disposal, which makes it easier to know when it's time to bend them in service of the story. I've also dabbled in homebrew and system creation over the years, though only ever on a personal basis.

Creating your character
Character creation will happen during session zero, though I will be available to provide ideas and support in advance of that for people who want to start early. We will be using pathfinder 2e as is, with most official content being available
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need to be able to access Foundry, as well as join a discord server for pre-game safety communication and character sheet selection.
What Andrew brings to the table
I want to tell the stories my players are interested in - I've crafted a world for you to explore, but what you do in it is down to you. If you want a big save the world adventure, political intrigue, more sandbox exploration, all of these are options, and which I focus on is based entirely on what you want out of the game. It's a very crunchy system, but I'll be using Foundry to bear the brunt of the mechanical tracking and complexity, for both myself and the players, letting us focus less on the spreadsheet management and more on telling stories. And the rules are a framework - if you have a cool idea and it makes sense, even if the rules don't exactly agree I'm happy to make it work (though I draw the line at using the sprinklers to electrocute a ground type)

How Andrew creates a safe table
Players will have access to a lines and veils document via the discord as soon as they join. I firmly believe an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and so I want to know what my players are comfortable with before session one is even written, and we can focus on playing the game at the table (though of course no plan is perfect, and if something comes up, I am always open to players doing whatever they need to for their own mental safety).
