About me
I am a writer, cosplayer, and educator with an interest in creating compelling stories that my players can enjoy. I ran a home game for my friends in highschool and have been wanting to get back into the TTRPG scene. Dungeons and Dragons 5e is the system I am most familiar with but I have also learning how to run systems like Blades in the Dark and Deadlands.

Creating your character
You can create a character using DnD Beyond before session 0, however we will collectively roll stats for characters during session 0 and will discuss how best to fit everyone's characters into the setting. Characters will be created using the 2024 rules for D&D5e, I am open to homebrew however their are certain steps we will have to discuss. I prefer single class builds in my game but if their are story reasons or just simply you want to multiclass I allow for one additional class to be taken. I will provide access to my DnD Beyond library so you will have access to any and all content that I have access to, as I buy more books more content will become available. Any additional questions about character creation can be asked at session 0 or at any time on Discord.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I use Discord for communication, I will send out server invites as players join the game so you can communicate with me and the fellow party members. I ask that all players have access to DnD Beyond as it is the easiest way for me to keep track of your character sheets. As this is my first game I am experimenting with VTTs, I plan on using Foundary as of right now but things could change if we as a group experience any issues.
What Brenton brings to the table
I will provide all players with access to my DnD Beyond library so you are not required to buy the books yourselves. As a DM, I tend to focus more on the roleplay part of DnD, I will attempt to do voices and I will play music in the background in hopes to better immerse my players into the setting, I am not a professional so bare with me on some this. Combat in my games tend to stay pretty lite but if I have enough players interested in more intense combat I can attempt that. I am in between on rules, certain things I tend to stay RAW, rules as written, like combat or enemy stat blocks. However I tend to lean toward ROC, rule of cool, when we get into roleplay section and general interactions with the world itself as many mechanics can get in the way of having fun moments. I as a DM have the expectation that my players want to experience and be immersed in a story, so I will strive to provide that.

How Brenton creates a safe table
This is an open table, I like to build how I do things around each table, certain groups may like certain things while others don't. This is a safe space, if anyone feels uncomfortable about anything happening they have the freedom to leave at any moment, contact me so rules can be established, and help overall create the environement they feel safest in.
