About the adventure
Fifteen years ago, the proud city of Drakkenheim was struck by a falling star that obliterated the central districts and unleashed a violent shockwave. The meteor’s impact reduced the royal castle to ruins, scattering the Lachmann royal family and leaving the throne vacant. Fires, collapsing structures, and the mysterious fallout from the impact forced the survivors to flee almost overnight, turning the once thriving capital into a haunted ruin that no kingdom dared reclaim. In the aftermath, a strange mineral known as delirium formed within the crater and the surrounding districts. This crystalline substance radiates unpredictable magical energy that warps the environment and corrupts living creatures. Monsters twisted by delirium now stalk the shattered streets, while strange eldritch weather patterns roll across the city. Even entering Drakkenheim exposes adventurers to creeping contamination that can alter mind, body, or fate. Today, Drakkenheim stands as a lawless frontier divided among competing factions. The Hooded Lanterns fight to contain the horrors within the ruins. The Followers of the Falling Fire worship the meteor as a divine omen. The Queensmen and other mercenary groups carve out territories for wealth and power. Meanwhile, scholars and alchemists risk everything in search of delirium for its immense value. Fifteen years after the meteor fell, the city remains fractured, perilous, and filled with opportunity for those bold or foolish enough to venture inside.

About me
Hey y’all! I’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons for about 13 years now, and I’ve been DM’ing for around ten of those. Running games is one of my favorite things, whether it’s diving into roleplay, building epic battles, or just sharing laughs around the table. I like to keep things fun and collaborative, making sure everyone has a chance to shine and tell their character’s story. Outside of D&D, I’m into other worlds and systems too, like Warhammer, Star Wars 5e, and Star Trek. I love drawing inspiration from those franchises to keep my games fresh and exciting. Whether you’re brand new to tabletop RPGs or a seasoned adventurer, I’m here to help you have a great time rolling dice and making memories.

Creating your character
- We will be using the 2014 rules, with some borrowing from the 2024 rule book. You may use any official material (if it is found on 5e Tools, it is likely okay with me). - Characters start at level 3. - Starting equipment, 250GP, and one potion of healing per player. - Session 0 will be when we create our sheets and roll our stats. - We will be using Roll20 for character sheets and maps, and Discord for voice. If you wish to create your sheet on D&D Beyond, that is fine, as long as I can take a look at your sheet :) - You may roll physical dice if you prefer, I certainly will be!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need: A Discord account (free) A Roll20 Account (free) If you need help setting either of these up or becoming familiar with them, please do not hesitate to ask!
What Jonathan brings to the table
Let me start by saying that I very much let the Rule of Cool take precedent in my games, as long as we can figure out how it can be accomplished using the Rules As Written. I love to reward creativity and explore different approaches to a situation. I bring ambient music, very poor voicing for NPC's, dynamic lighting, home made maps, and tons of fun to the table!
Homebrew rules
I actually have a document that outlines all of the changes I have made, some home brew rules I implement, and some rules I have decided to borrow from the 2024 book. This document is always expanding and changing! See it here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kW6q4MDC8ioMlbpDGv3euXpGy_C3rplq5IxXbewUiMM/edit?usp=sharing

How Jonathan creates a safe table
I implement the safety deck within Roll20 (instructions on how to use it will be gone over in our session 0) and I keep my door open for communication at all times! If you have a problem you need resolved, you are always welcome to come to me. During session 0, I will have each of you fill out a consent checklist, and provide my own, so that we are all clear on our hard limits. After session, I provide a link to a short and simple review form where you can leave feedback on the session, your thoughts, your character's thoughts, whatever you wish to say! It is anonymous, so never be afraid to speak your mind.
