About me

The creative writer in me thrives off of this. I found a love for dungeons and dragons and really couldn't turn away from it since 5th edition. Whether it is creating new characters for games I hope to play in the future, new or interesting combinations, world building or finding that perfect song to represent the emotional moment in a player's story, I love it all. My dog spike is not so thrilled with dungeons and dragons but feeds off my excitement towards the stories we all create together! My schedule is flexible so if there are days and times that work better for you please don't hesitate to ask! Talk dnd with me! I would love to hear your creative combinations, roleplaying, and backstories! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to shoot me a message!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will be using the core 2024 rules. Let's plan to have a session zero to talk over classes and what we all expect and would like to avoid during gameplay. Starting level 1. I have content shared with those in my campaign so no need to purchase anything unless you wish to own the content yourselves! 1. When creating a new character, we will use the standard creation method. 2. In the home tab we will make sure the only source allowed is core rules. As long as all other sources and partnered content is left unchecked you can move on to the next step. 3. Go ahead and pick your class! There are 12 options, each of which bringing their own strengths to the adventure. 4. Go ahead and pick your background! How do you Invision your character starting out before adventuring? Feel free to enter more detail specific aspects of your character. (these are much more for flavor and how you see or would describe your adventurer). 5. In the next tab you can pick your species. Feel free to pick what aligns with your character the most! 6. Ability scores are something I would like to wait for in session 0. It's more fun and involved to have everyone rolling together! 7. Finally for equipment we are going to pick the equipment option, and you are welcome to follow and fill out the list as prompted by the various options that will be at your disposal.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Let's plan on using discord, dnd beyond, and above vtt. A discord account for communication, a dnd beyond account to access and create character sheets, and the extension "above vtt" which will be used on dnd beyond.

What Travis brings to the table

I will be voicing different characters and providing music to try to set the tone of the story. We follow the rules, but rule of cool is a thing. Icewind Dale is not for the faint hearted. Combat is intense and not always level specific so talking tactics is welcome.

Safety

How Travis creates a safe table

Our goal is for everyone to have fun and be safe. We will frequently check in given the dark nature of this campaign. The adventure in particular covers dark topics and themes so if there is anything that makes you uncomfortable, please don't hesitate to speak up. I will accommodate players as they need and check in regularly, but please understand this is a horror inspired campaign. Our goal to venture through the unknown, the scary and tense moments together. Above all else is having fun though.
