About the adventure
In the twisting sub-streets of Ward 46 of the Greater Los Angeles Protection Area lies a little bar called the Nob. That's where you hang out, waiting for your fixer to hook you up with jobs that might be enough to break even on your shitty-ass apartment. Then she walks in: Piranha. Tall and lithe, an elf who clearly comes from money. She goes up to Sam, your bartender and fixer, insisting on the best damn runners in the city. You happen to be the lucky sobs who are the only runners in the bar at the moment, so he points her to your table. And that's how you get started on a job that will take you deep into the heart of Renraku's R&D department, tangling with lethal security forces, where you will risk drawing the attention of Haruhiko Nakada himself, the infamous CEO of Renraku. But you still have no idea how deep this rabbit hole actually goes... * * * This is a stand-alone mini-campaign of 3-5 sessions, including a session 0 for character creation. However, it could also act as "Episode 1" for a longer campaign. We could move on to "Episode 2" after this one is done if folks have had fun and would like to continue.

About me
"So you want a game, do you?" The witch's voice seems to crack in the brittle air, and her one good eye rolls until it finds your face. "Then you must pay the price..." She cackles as she extends her bony fingers. "But coin is just the beginning. What do you want? Tell me what is inside your soul... Who are you?" Hello and welcome! Gaming is more than a hobby for me, it’s a lifestyle. I first started playing as I was learning to walk and talk as a little tyke, and I’ve been playing, running, and designing rpgs since then. I’ve been running games professionally for about 10 years now, although not on SPG until 2026. I like to run a character-driven, roleplay-heavy story, but at the end of the day what’s most important is the players. If you want a hex crawl, if you want high political intrigue, if you want mystery and murder and danger… let me know! I can probably design content tailored to what you’re looking for. For myself, I love stories and I love gaming! I’m looking forward to getting to run some different systems and explore new worlds through this medium.

Creating your character
We will make characters together at a session 0. I have created a number of resources for Shadowrun 3rd Edition that you can find on this reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Shadowrun/comments/1bgfwth/3rd_edition_rules_summary_and_formfillable/ We can use these for character creation and as reference material during gameplay, which should make things a bit easier for, well, everyone, but for new players in particular.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Join me on my Discord server! And make sure to grab the resources I linked in the "Character Creation" section.
What Ashton brings to the table
This will be run as theater of the mind on discord. Shadowrun 3e is a complex system, but I've put a lot of work into creating reference materials to make it easier and more accessible, and I'm happy to train new players!
Homebrew rules
There are a handful of homebrew rules included in my reference doc, "Shadowrun 3rd Edge," which is linked in the Character Creation section above. Anything in italics is homebrew, and assume we'll use those minor homebrew revisions.

How Ashton creates a safe table
I try to always stay attentive to my players' experience and make sure that everyone is continuing to have a good time. We will be having a session 0 to align on intent and gameplay styles, as well as to make characters and train on the rules. During the game, I honor the X-card, which you can do by typing X in the chat or by verbally calling for a pause. We can pause at any time for any reason to align on the content and resolve conflict as needed. And afterward, I like to do Stars and Wishes to get feedback.
