About the adventure
Enter an Eldritch World of desperation and betrayal. You have gathered from the corners of the earth, united in your mission to unravel the secrets of a tablet unearthed 80 years ago near Snake Island in the Black Sea: an island that has no snakes in a sea that is not black. Prepare to face mysteries wrapped in compulsions masked with lies obscured by delusions as you race against adversaries from across all time to decipher the tablet's secrets. It predicts world-shattering earthquakes with unnerving accuracy and is written in multiple dead or dying languages. If taken at face value, the lines spell out an incantation that will save the world -- but nothin in your experience has even turned out to be what it appeared on the surface. Dark forces muster, betrayal and doubt make even simple tasks hard, and cynical geopolitics tug mindless at your allegiances even as the end of all things approaches. What are you prepared to do?

Meet the Game Master
About me
I've been a Dungeon Master in various capacities for more than 40 years, though I've drifted away from more mechanic-heavy systems to those that tend to be more rules-light with focus on character interactions, improvisation and role play. I like almost all of the Powered by the Apocalypse systems and annually GM Monster of the Week sessions at GenCon. I love presenting characters with difficult choices and rewarding failure with experience. If you like collaborating with the Game Master to make real decisions that really affect the world, including the Player Characters around you, there's a good chance you'll like the way I game.

Creating your character
We will create characters together as part of session 0, when we will also review safety guidelines and basic rules.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
No preparation required. Role playing will take place on Zoom.
What Kip brings to the table
We will be created a rich and mutually improvised world. My campaigns are not scripted. I set a couple of guiderails early and from there the story takes off interactively. I love players who role play with abandon, make decisions that their characters would make, and putting those characters in situations where they can succeed brilliant or fail in ways that matter and have lasting consequences.
Homebrew rules
To traditional Monster of the Week, I do add tokens to track things like rage or madness -- another currency to add consequences to your decision making.
