About the adventure

Once every eight years, the Witchlight Carnival appears, bringing joy, magic, and wonder. Bright lights, strange performers, and impossible attractions promise delight to all who enter. But behind the laughter and music, something precious has gone missing, and the truth waits beyond the carnival gates. This adventure leads you from the whimsical Witchlight Carnival into the Feywild, a realm of stories, emotions, and fairy-tale logic. Here, words have power, promises matter, and clever thinking can be as valuable as a sword. The tone is playful and magical, with moments of mystery, mischief, and quiet danger. The Wild Beyond the Witchlight is perfect for players who enjoy roleplay, creativity, and problem-solving. Combat exists, but it is not the focus. Many challenges can be solved through clever plans, social encounters, and imaginative ideas, making this an excellent choice for new players or anyone who prefers story-first adventures. If you love fairy tales, strange characters, and worlds where magic feels alive, this game is for you. Come step into the carnival, follow the lights, and see what waits on the other side.

About me

Hello adventurers, my name's Ted and it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance! I've been a Dungeon Master for D&D 5E for the past 5 years. I started my professional full-time DM career on November of 2021 and I've been having a blast! I am Greek born and raised, which gives me the edge when I talk for the NPCs, they all have a natural Eastern European accent! Joking aside, I love D&D and I enjoy playing every single session. I am very passionate about the game and all my players have had a great time. I DM for most of the official modules from Wizards of the Coast. I can also pick up other books if a group requests them, but will need some time to prepare. I hope you consider me to be your Dungeon Master on your next epic adventure!

Character creation

Creating your character

Players will start from level 2 and progress to level 8 in the span of this campaign. Each player should have a general idea of what character they'd like to play and then we will make the concept a reality together. Characters will be created at Session 0. We will be following the new 2024 rules. Players are highly encouraged to pick a new subclass from the newest edition.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All players need to have a working mic and a stable internet connection. Webcam is not necessary but always appreciated (it's nice to see the faces of the people you're talking to). Everyone should have a basic understanding of the rules, of course they will be assisted if they don't remember something. Roll20 as well as Discord account are necessary. Finally, players will need a Syrinscape Online account where I will be streaming music and ambience sounds from.

What Ted brings to the table

I have an Elite account on Roll20, as well as all core rulebooks that I can share with my players. I am very proficient with scripts and macros on Roll20 that speed up combat a ton. Music and ambience will be streamed from Syrinscape Online Player.

Safety

How Ted creates a safe table

On Session 0 we will discuss the rulings we will follow ), introduce ourselves, decide on the party composition and go over the way the campaign works. We will roll for stats, but everyone will use the array we roll. If the rolls are bad we will go with point-buy/standard array for all. We will use the "X, N and O" cards on Roll20. Players can expect a fast paced and rules light gaming experience. This specific campaign is highly comedic at times.
