About the adventure
Welcome to Lost Mine of Phandelver—a classic Dungeons & Dragons adventure full of mystery, danger, and excitement. You’ll begin on a simple job: escort a wagon of supplies along the rugged Triboar Trail to the frontier town of Phandalin. Easy coin, right? Except the road doesn’t stay quiet for long. Bandits, goblins, and worse things are prowling the wilderness—and something important has gone missing. As you follow the clues, you’ll uncover an old conflict simmering beneath the surface: rival factions pulling strings, hidden threats in the hills, and a shadowy villain who doesn’t want questions answered. Phandalin itself is a dusty, half-rebuilt settlement perched on the edge of untamed territory. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone… and where trouble can take root fast. You’ll meet locals with secrets, forge alliances (or make enemies), take on quests that range from monster-hunting to investigation, and decide what kind of heroes you want to be. The choices you make can change the town’s fate—and your reputation. At the heart of the story lies a legend: a lost mine tied to ancient magic and immense wealth. Finding it isn’t just about treasure—it’s about survival. The trail leads through ambushes, crumbling ruins, eerie caverns, and tense negotiations, building toward a final confrontation where courage and clever thinking matter as much as swords and spells. This campaign is excellent for new players who want to learn D&D: it introduces the rules naturally through exploration, roleplay, and combat, with plenty of room to ask questions and grow into your character. That said, experienced players are absolutely welcome—there’s enough intrigue, tactical challenge, and roleplaying opportunity to keep everyone engaged. Bring a character you’re excited about—heroic, shady, curious, or chaotic disaster—and let’s see what you do when the frontier pushes back. I

About me
Hi I am Dan. I have been a D&D player since 2nd Edition. Now I am stepping into the rolls of an online DM. I am an experienced DM and have ran several campaigns. My games are always welcoming to new players at the table. My games are also LBGTQ+ friendly. My schedule is completely open as I devote all my time and effort to my campaigns and players. I look forward to incorporating your ideas into a grand adventure for all of us! I present tough but fair challenges for my players. I like to incorporate the challenge and tough scenarios that I grew up with in classic DnD but bring it to the modern day. I value all my players and am willing to work with most character concepts. I want you to be able to tell YOUR story!

Creating your character
Character creation will be done one on one with me over discord. We will create your character on Roll20. This will be done before the session. Stats will be done with point buy system. Characters will start at level 1. I most official material is ok for character creation. Third party and homebrew must be approved by the DM. Your Character in some way knows or is seeking employment from a Dwarf known as Gundren Rockseeker. He is hiring you to escort a wagon from Neverwinter to Phandalin, promising more work when you arrive.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A free account for Roll20 to play and a free Discord account to communicate in voice chat are necessary, as well as a working mic so we can hear you.
What DanDanBigelow brings to the table
I am a very fair DM. I usually sticks to Rules as Written, but I am willing to allow cool things to happen to when the time happens. I try to be fair and equal amongst all my players. I am a very Role Play heavy DM. I utilize voice acting and voice changers to immerse the experience. I also generate custom art for NPCS and other tokens. I also make my own battlemaps when needed. Combat is tactical but always fair. Good teamwork will prevail. I roll all dice in the open. My goal is to provide the most immersive role play experience you can possibly have. I want to bring this world and the world of the characters to life. I want you to feel like you are really there.
Homebrew rules
Drinking a potion as an action gives you the full heal possible. So a normal health potion gives 2d4+2 hp. Taking an action to drink you would not roll you would just heal 10 hp (the maximum). You may drink as a bonus action normally and roll the dice to see how much you heal. Every player begins each level with 5 hero points. Hero points allow you to reroll a die you have just rolled. You may do this after knowing whether the result was a success or fail. You receive 5 hero points at the start of every level and they are renewed at every level. The points do not carry over so it is use them or lose them.
