About the adventure

The mining city of Radeguard faces its darkest hour. The once-profitable Eboncrest Mines now pulse with unstable wild magic, driving panicked elementals called Elemin into the streets. These child-like creatures aren't attacking—they're terrified—but their chaotic "play" is tearing the city apart. The Guard Captain has lost patience with diplomacy and plans to seal the mines at sundown, trapping anyone inside. The Guild's negotiator, Saria, ventured below hours ago and hasn't returned. You have until the sun touches the horizon to save her and prevent a war. PERFECT FOR NEW PLAYERS Never played D&D before? About me

I’ve been playing and GMing for over 20 years. I love telling stories together with my players: The dice set the stakes, and we discover the plot as we go. I thrive in improvisation and I use published modules for inspiration when they serve the table. Right now I GM for three in‑person groups (2 D&D + 1 Daggerheart) and two online groups (D&D), and I play in another campaign (D&D) with friends. My tables are collaborative, character‑forward, and paced to keep decisions meaningful. Expect clear session outlines, safety tools up front, and flexible rulings that favor fun and momentum over rule‑lawyering. If you bring curiosity and a character you care about, I’ll bring a living world, memorable NPCs, and challenges that reward creativity.

Character creation

Creating your character

We'll start discussing character concepts before the session in our private Discord channel. This is where you can share ideas, ask questions, and start thinking about who your adventurer is and what drives them. Starting Level: 1 - Stat Generation: We will use the Heroic Array (17, 15, 13, 12, 10, 8). - Resources: All official content is available. Since this is a beginner-friendly game, sticking to the Player's Handbook is often easiest, but I'm open to other official sources if you have a specific concept in mind.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

To play, you'll need: - Discord Account (free): Our primary communication hub. Create one at discord.com if you don't have one already. I'll send you a server invite once you're booked. - D&D Beyond Account (free): For character sheets and rules reference. Sign up at dndbeyond.com. I'll share campaign access for any resources you need. That's it! Everything else happens in our Discord server and during our session.

Safety

How Hermann creates a safe table

Your safety and comfort are my top priorities. Here's how we'll maintain a welcoming table: Before the Session: - I'll send you a confidential Lines & Veils form to fill out privately. This covers content you want completely avoided (Lines) and content you're okay with existing in the world but don't want spotlighted (Veils) - All responses are kept confidential and will be respected without question or explanation required At the Beginning of the Session: - We'll discuss table expectations and comfort levels as a group (without requiring anyone to share private boundaries) - I'll explain our safety tools: X-Card (stop this content now), N-Card (no, let's not go there), O-Card (okay, this is getting intense, let's pause) - We'll establish how to use these tools in our digital format (quick Discord message or video signal) Throughout the Session: - Safety tools are always available—use them at any time, no questions asked - You can always message me privately if something comes up - If anything uncomfortable happens, we'll address it promptly and adjust course This is a collaborative story. Everyone should feel respected, heard, and safe.
