About the adventure
Nothing says Dungeons & Dragons like gathering a group of heroes to face a mighty dragon in a mysterious dungeon. From the first adventurers who forayed into the gloom more than 50 years ago to new players beginning their first adventure now. This campaign takes players from level 0 (character and background creation), to level 12, each adventure offers a range of challenges, from defeating evil dragons to working with good dragons, as well as navigating more complicated dilemmas. The dungeons where the dragons make their lairs range from cavern complexes to ruined cities and more. Set in my own Homebrew world of Acolamine, with it's diverse and sometimes eccentric population, these dragons add to the history and cultures of the peoples settled there.

About me
My name is Suzan, but you can call me KT. I started playing D&D back in 1978 with borrowed and shared materials, dice from other board games, graph paper and pencils, lead mini's, and ever changing rules. Then the AD&D books came out, and I created a Homeworld. My original characters became NPC's, including Kayen-Telva (KT). In the 1990's I taught my kids to play, and we had regular games with "wandering" friends for years. We still play - sometimes online sometimes in person. I've also been playing and running tables at a local Game Store for a few years now. Those games are Adventurers League, which is a great way to learn the game and make new friends. Even played in some tournaments, which was fun and rewarding. I've been a teacher, writer, dancer, musician and a therapist in addition to being a mom, and a gamer. D&D is an excellent tool for creative self expression. Can't imagine my life without it. Join me, won't you?

Creating your character
We will be creating characters and backgrounds in the first session, then proceed with the adventure. Each chapter will take about 2 weeks to complete. We will be using the 2024 Players Handbook as well as supplemental 5E materials.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need D&D Beyond and Discord. If you don't already use D&D Beyond, you will get a free account when joining this campaign.
What KT brings to the table
My goal is for you to have fun. If you know a lot about D&D dragons, this will expand that knowledge. If you know nothing about D&D, this campaign will give you background and history of dragons in general, and how they work in D&D. I use a combination of Rules as Written (RaW) and Rule of Cool (RoC). Rules are guidelines to get you started and provide a good framework for Adventure. Rules also can be altered, bent, and overridden in order to have a unique experience. While the setting is primarily my own Home-brew, I will also be utilizing the Dragon Delves adventure anthology as a supplement.
Homebrew rules
"Roll initiative" isn't always about combat. It's also useful for roll play, to make sure everyone gets a turn in a debate or for skill checks. Healing potions can be taken as a Bonus Action (2024 rules), but if you use an Action, you get the full HP benefit without rolling.

How KT creates a safe table
The first session will include character creation and discussion of issues for players to consider. I will post a consent form in Discord when you sign up, and that will inform the session 0 discussion. As in most fantasy RPGs, there is the possibility of character death. Killing monsters (including things like spiders and snakes) is a usually big part of why people play. Some character backgrounds may include trauma, or the desire for vengeance. Real world politics is discouraged, but that doesn't mean there are no politics in a fantasy world. Players often meet in Taverns, so alcohol used by characters can come up. Cults and cultists always make for a good story, so they will definitely show up along the way.
